Once I got it home, I discovered it was actually a 1942 Waterfall Art Deco piece. After seeing what it could look like restored, I knew I didn't want to risk ruining something that old--especially being from the WWII era. I'm so glad I trusted this company with it. They stripped off the paint and completely brought it back to life. The craftsmanship is incredible, and the attention to detail truly shows. What was once a forgotten piece is now one of my most prized possessions. If you have any wood furniture worth saving, this is the place to go. I can't recommend them enough.

The worst possible service we could have received. Definitely do not recommend working with Calico!…read moreThroughout the process (3 full months) they did not order fabric samples (after numerous times asking), once they received the chairs they charged us an additional $650 for foam that was not included in the original estimate, and once we got the final product the legs of the chairs were scraped and scratched (after we refinished ourselves because they wanted to charge $1,000). The staff continuously did not understand why were frustrated and in the end told us they would not give any more money back. The worst customer service and final product. I would recommend going with any other company.

Wow. That's all I can say. I had no idea there was a store like this in the area…read more If I known I could have stopped by here to find fabric to reupholster my furniture, or make some matching throw pillows or window treatments. Calico Corners has some beautiful fabrics in nearly every price point and color. And to make sure the look is complete, there's matching trim, thread and accessories. Although there's fabric in nearly all price levels, it didn't take me long to figure out that the fabrics I liked the best were priced a bit beyond my comfort level. The triple digit cost per yard quickly had me circling to the more budget-friendly line of fabrics that were also beautiful. I spent some time looking at the books and listening to the employees help the other customers make fabric decisions. I was impressed with how well they were able to offer suggestions and assist in the decision making. When we arrived, it was about 20 minutes prior to closing, but we decided to go in for a quick looksee. I pay attention to customer service and if the vibe is welcoming and this visit it was NOT! We did not get a hello or welcome. When paying for my candle, the owner said hello, my total, and asked me to punch in my card pin. Honestly, it felt as if we were stepping on toes for entering their shop close to closing. We weren't the last customers in the shop, and we were left the store 10 minutes prior to closing. When we left, the owner immediately ran outside and pulled in her sign and closed the door. My friend and I both talked about how unwelcomed we felt, and unfortunately, we decided we will not be coming back here. It has nothing to do with the items inside the shop, but it is a crummy feeling when you want to support a small business but are left feeling rushed and unappreciated.

George is very "old school", which has its pros and cons. He only accepts traditional forms pf payments but also has the old school mantra of prioritizing customer satisfaction over profit. He was clear about giving us options that we could DIY instead of paying his hourly rate of $75/hr. In the end, we paid his $40 service fee and now have piece of mind to DIY.
