The lady that answered the phone started asking me questions about his siblings, although I was only trying to make an apt for my eldest at the time. She asked me if everyone was up to date on vaccines. I told her my eldest (who I was making the apt for) was, but my other two were not. She asked me why and I told her that we were spacing them but we also hadn't been able to establish a new doctor here yet. She told me she would have to ask the doctors and the owners if she could schedule my son. She called me back a few hours later to tell me they could not schedule him because his siblings are not up to date on their vaccines. She said "your 16 month old has not even had his 12 month shots". Well no- because we moved here a week before he turned 1 and we have not established a doctor yet. So I could not schedule my son (who is up to date on his shots) a check up for someone to look at the possible tumor he could have on his brain because his siblings are not up to date on their shots. Wonder how they will ever be up to date if I can't get them scheduled. This office, the doctors and the owners (who weirdly had to be asked) have their priorities in a really odd place. Caring about a siblings vaccine schedule more than looking at my sons bump on his head. Some backwards priorities and patient care in this practice. Blessing in disguise I got "denied"

I am a healthy male by objective standards. Blood pressure and weight in the healthy range. On NO heart, weight or blood pressure medications. My real issue was being required to provide all my insurance information in advance before the appointment... sending digital images of my cards, and then receiving a $1,273 out of pocket charge bill, including more than $500 for an initial office visit charge. A ~ $75 X-ray charge seemed reasonable though for a toe that I had stubbed and seemed to be slow and healing. I declined the referral for physical therapy on the toe. SMH. I called the office to discuss the exorbitant bill. And explained that I thought medicare would cover almost everything in it. They acted like they didn't know.I said I would be following up with medicare myself and expected they would be doing the same. Called back a month later and found out they'd dropped the ball again.And nothing had been done to confirm the amounts that medicare allowed. They acted like they didn't know I had insurance, and Medicare coverage. Of course.I got the run around saying it was the claims department fault, not billing department's fault. I reminded "Casey" that this reflects negatively on the doctor. I asked who should be held accountable, and she didn't like the question or the way she was being talked to so she hung up on me.
