To sum up my experiences with Dr. Youn:…read more 1) Unprofessional and incompetent office staff: Appointment was canceled and they didn't notify me. I went to check in and that's when I was told that they had canceled and I would need to reschedule. 2) Doctor is not thorough: When he finally did see me, he recommended some inserts and sloughed off my calluses. That's a good start, but in comparison, the new podiatrist that I now see ordered X-rays for me, examined my bunions, and answered questions about foot care as I age and with my underlying conditions. 3) Condescending, arrogant bedside manner: He made no secret of his disdain for me as a girl mom, not once but twice. "You're having another girl? Are you OK with that? Did you want to have girls? Does your husband want girls?"

I escorted my patient in to see Dr. Youn today. This was the second visit. The first visit was…read moreokay but this second visit was degrading and his comments were totally unprofessional. My patient directed me to ask Dr. Youn about possibly giving him some prescribed pain medication. I take the same medication for pain and when my patient asked me if he could ask Dr. Youn for the same medication I thought it would be okay to ask. So when I mentioned it to Dr. Youn, he proceeded to accuse me of asking for the medication for my patient so I could have it for myself. Then he started to lecture us about how he has to MAKE SURE that my patient isn't asking for the medication to give to me. Dr. Youn kept on in an accusatory manner and at one point told us that he has access to the DEA website to research whether or not we are having several doctors prescribe the same medication for us. Basically accusing myself and my patient of being lying criminals. I understand that medical professionals have to be cautious when prescribing medications but accusations of lying is not something that should be said to a patient. My patient is a man in his 90's. He has a lot of pain when he walks even with a cane. I have worked in the medical field for many years and have been trained in proper bedside manner. Dr. Youn needs to learn that the number one rule to proper bedside manner is to NOT make the patient or their caregiver feel accused of criminalistic behavior involving asking about medication.
