Don't do it. We've had a horrible experience with this company. There's lots of low level stuff…read morethat was problematic (constant lateness, over-priced for what's a one hour walk, very short notice and availability). But yesterday was the worst experience Fergus, my 18 month old, has ever had. With only a day's notice I was told by Katherine a temp that I'd never heard of before, or had ever met my dog, was going to be looking after him instead. This was too late for me to make alternative plans. That temp picked up 30 mins late, and dropped off 30 mins early. The early drop off meant I wasn't at home, and my wonderful cleaner is unfortunately scared of dogs. She calls me, and I can hear the temp shouting at her over the phone. And I can hear my cleaner saying "don't just drop his lead - the door is open - he'll run away". It takes me two minutes to come back only to see the temp dragging my poor dog, who is terrified at this point and pulling away from her. I take him and tell her there's no need to come back on Monday. She starts shouting at me and following me back up towards my home, until I tell her to stop shouting at me and I get Fergus indoors safe and sound. I spoke to Katherine about it and instead of simply apologising she got very defensive and aggressive. She then responded to my review on her FB page by saying it was Fergus' fault because he's a rescue with behavioural issues. Ferg is a rescue, but he's as good as gold. And then she says he shouldn't be part if pack walks (total rubbish - Ferg is part of two dog clubs and LOVES other dogs - he's wonderful with any and all dogs he's encountered). So if that's the case why has she taken our money and exposed the dogs in her care to my dog if he's inappropriate? She's lying, and she's incompetent. There are so many good doggy daycares and walkers that are customer-friendly, organised and really love animals (not resort to blaming them and lying to cover their mistakes). Don't use this one. Your pup is too precious to risk it. Also she deleted our Google review and pretended her business was closed. And she deleted our Facebook review (when she realised her response gave away how incompetent and untruthful she is). So she's covering her tracks in terms of reviews. Interestingly she only has a couple of positive ones going back years so... I know I'm not the first to have an issue with her.

The owner on the other hand...her customer service has it all, bar standards of decency. As a local political activist (Hackney Lib Dems) I know how important it is to promote local businesses. Hackney is a HIVE of activity from Sista Space to our beloved MP Diane Abbot and the public servants in the MPS/CPS who watch over us. Anyway, I digress...it wasn't a pleasant experience and I didn't feel good tbh. I wasn't going to write a review but my friend Nat talked me around, she's right too. People should know when to Rowe back and go with a tried and trusted alternative like Rover. Moving on made me feel Royally Free. Best wishes, Molli, Surbiton

I don't usually post negative stuff on the internet but on this occasion I feel it is warranted. I…read morewant to tell Lincolnshire doggie people about a bad experience we have had this weekend with Sophie The Dog Nanny in Stamford. My daughter left her Irish setter with this lady on Thursday afternoon. Within hours she was on the phone to my daughter saying that he was barking and not settling. My daughter suggested that she give it time as he had only been there a few hours. She bombarded my daughter with texts all evening thus ruining her time away. On Friday morning she phoned to complain that she had no sleep because he was barking. She then phoned to say that her neighbour had complained which is hard to believe since she is in a detached house. She told my daughter that she was going to put him in kennels! My daughter told her to just hang on so she could look in to it herself. She was told by this woman that she was taking him to Barking Mad kennels in Spalding. This is not a kennels but an agency for dog sitters. My daughter told her she could not do that and asked her to wait whilst she contacted us. We said to tell her to bring him to us and thought it was organised. However the woman then refused to bring him saying she couldn't make that journey despite it being closer than Spaldng where she had proposed to take him. It was arranged that we would collect him from her house at 4.30pm as she wasn't home until then. We were there exactly on time but she wasn't and the dog did not appear to be there. She ignored my phone calls and texts. She eventually turned up 20 minutes late. She had a small van with several dogs, impossible to see how many, all of which were unsecured and in the back together. She was extremely unprofessional. There was no apology for the fact that she clearly could not cope. She was rude, and used abusive language including the F word. This was in front of our 2 small grandsons. After throwing the dogs bags at me she then opened up the back of her van and allowed him to jump out with out a lead attached. Of course he went to run. He had no idea where he was. Luckily we were able to get hold of him quickly before he bolted. When I challenged her on the stupidity of her actions she claimed it was fine because she knows him. She had never met him until the day before and he had been in her care less than 24 hours. I am not sure what she would have done had he have run off. She was extremely unpleasant and very unprofessional. Her practices are unsafe. My daughter will not be using her again and will be making a formal complaint with the council first thing on Monday morning. She claims to be registered with them but that is yet to be verified. It is not my place to tell you what to do with your dogs. You will make up your own mind. Hopefully my information will allow you to make an informed decision for yourself.

Having been completely stuck after our usual dog carer was unable to have them due to very tragic circumstances, we were left with the situation of possibly having to cancel our two week family holiday. As my three year old setter suffers with lots of anxiety issues and needs medication for this on a regular basis I can not just place him in normal kennels. Due to his anxiety he has already suffered with a gastric torsion and now has a gastropexy, but still bloats regularly, so needs a lot of care and reassurance. My mother agreed to stay at our house for the two weeks and brought her setter with her, this meant that my mother would need help with walking, so I contacted Sophie at short notice and she agreed to help out. Sophie came every day as promised to walk the 4 dogs and on one day came and walked them twice as they were going to be home alone for a longer period of time than normal. My mother found Sophie to be very polite and very reliable and felt that when the dogs were in her care they were all well taken care of even to the extent that my extremely anxious dog started to whine for Sophie when she left! We will definitely use Sophie again and will use the other services that she offers, starting with her doggy day care to get them used to being away from their own surroundings, so hopefully we can use Sophie each time we go away.

She is already fairly skittish after being left with family members then flown overseas, but after meeting Joanne, we knew everything was going to be okay. She'll even provide extra food and litter and take care of your plants if you need her to. We returned home to a tidy house with a series of detailed notes going over each day's visit, and most importantly, a happy cat. We will definitely be using Cat's Whiskers for future travels and recommend them for anyone else seeking a cat sitter.

First example, I had to ask a friend to come all the way from the other side of London to try sort out a fairly straight forward problem with our conceirge. Another ocassion, they had our only spare key and wouldn't share it with our friend to cover feedings that they wouldn't do on Xmas and New Year. On both ocassions we were sent rude e-mails and in one was told "with all due respect it's not our problem".... when we were the other side of the world we were unable to do anything. Hardly makes for a relaxing time away. Furthermore, we were willing to be regulars as we were always away and had already tolerated their attitude as we thought there were no other options. Thankfully, I was wrong. We have since taken our business elsewhere and are receiving a much better service. From someone i think that actually cares about cats. We've used them twice and they have been just delightful to deal with. Think twice before you use this company.

Just before Christmas we had booked a short trip to New York and my parents were away but a friend could have Ham but only on the weekend. A person I met in the park recommended Dogvillas for day care, so I had a look on their website to see if they did dog sitting too. Ham is still young so the thought of putting him in kennels is heartbreaking. Dogvillas can either look after your dog at your home or go home with one of their people. Our requirements were quite fiddly so I emailed Jason and he could organise pick up and drop off to suit me and my friend looking after Ham over the weekend. AMAZING! I dropped Ham off at the day care and he was off immediately to play with the other dogs. I was a little upset Ham didn't miss me go, but I was so happy he'd have fun all weekend. My flight back was a bit delayed so when I landed I called ahead to warn them and it was fine. 5 stars all round. Won't be hesitating to book more holidays in future!

HYGIENE ISSUES!!! Unfortunately I did not have the same experience as Jinny. I believe that this is…read moreperhaps because they are now oversubscribed and cannot give their attention to so many dogs at once. My 19 month old bedlington x whippet lurcher is very social and loves to play with other dogs in the park, but it seems that he did not like being in an arch under the railway tracks. He hated the rumbling noise of the trains. Additionally it seems he also did not like being left alone in the rooms with dogs where there were not many comfortable areas to sleep (laminate floors and one small bed on the floor for many dogs). After his morning run, he is a sighthound and therefore sleeps most of the day after he sprints in the park, so he needs somewhere comfy to do that. Perhaps it is slightly better for active dogs. And lastly, after using the overnight service for one night only on a couple of occasions, I did end up going on a business trip and leaving him there for 3 nights (the dog walkers who work for them take the dogs home overnight) and he came back with huge raw sores under his armpits and my friend who collected him was not given his bag of things (rain jacket- it was winter, bed cushion, herbal calming tablets) and they lost his £35 calming pheromone collar which I bought specifically to reduce his stress levels while I was away. They did, to their credit, reimburse me for the collar, but all of the other things they had lost and eventually found were returned to me covered in mouse feces, which was unpleasant to say the least. Again, they laundered them and posted them back to me, but I had already spent 20 minutes getting there to be given my belongings in a state of filth (which I rejected), and then 20 minutes back home for nothing because they had not checked my items before telling me they were ready to collect, so they had to wash them and send them back to me at a later date. I understand that with all of that dog food hanging around, mice might be a problem. But perhaps this calls for the need of industrial kitchen food storage units to keep the hygiene levels a bit higher. My other problem is that the sores under his arms were pretty bad (bloody) and nobody called me or sent me a message to tell me this. Instead my friend who picked him up was the one to inform me. I am guessing they let him sprint with his harness on, which is not a good idea because it is only for walking purposes- otherwise when he runs really fast like a greyhound, it is obviously going to chafe. I would hope that most dog carers/walkers would be aware of this, but it seems they didn't even notice he had an injury from it, which leaves me sad and wondering if they paid any attention to him at all. Needless to say he came back pretty traumatized and I personally would not use their services again.
