JRS used the services of Mr. Ronald Scott Kaniuk whom she asked to create a will for her back in 2017. Not only did he not complete her will properly, but in 2025 when we reviewed her will, we noticed that her page three was missing and in its place was a page three from another client's will. When we asked him to find the correct page three, he had no record of the correct page. We had never heard of a situation where the lawyer did not have a copy of his work, i.e. page three of JRS' will. We then contacted him at least 10 times to rectify the situation; he repeatedly could not find time to meet with us. When we finally met Mr. Ronald Scott Kaniuk, many months later, he indicated he would prepare a new will for JRS. Once again we had a great deal of difficulty meeting him because he consistently offered us multiple excuses explaining why he could not get together with us. When he finally prepared what we thought was a clean will for JRS, and we went to a local Wells Fargo Bank with two witnesses to get JRS' will properly notarized, the bank representative informed us that the testamentary affidavit provided by Mr. Ronald Scott Kaniuk was not valid and was outdated. At this point, we decided to find another Florida lawyer to complete JRS will. With this background in mind, if anyone should consider using the legal services of Mr. Ronald Scott Kaniuk, I would humbly and respectfully suggest that you find another lawyer who is competent, reliable and trustworthy. Our families have used the services of the Solkoff Legal firm for decades and so when COVID-19 came…read morearound we thought it would be a good time to make sure that everything we wanted was spelled out in very certain terms based upon information obtained by bringing our lives up to date and putting it in order. That is not an easy job, but Madeleine, Brandon, and Scott, our team, made it as easy as possible. We gave them the information that they asked for and they developed a series of proposals and options and we asked questions and more questions, (law often sounds like a foreign language), which they patiently and quickly answered by phone, email, messaging, etc. They have held our hands through the whole process and are continuing to hold it as we follow the instructions they have laid out. As we worked on the wills and powers of attorney, health instructions, etc., the pandemic was growing and so we did almost all of our communicating by phone conferencing or email. When papers needed signing, it was done outdoors in our car with masks and gloves. The procedure was well thought out and everything we needed was there and ready and now, COVID-19 conscious.
