I was also told the consultation would be 15 minutes, despite previously understanding it to be 30 minutes. When I expressed that I was only interested in meeting with the attorney I originally booked the consultation with, I was then told that doing so would require paying an additional $100, raising the consultation fee from $100 to $200. At that point, due to the lack of transparency around who I was meeting with, the consultation length, and the fee structure, I felt uncomfortable proceeding and requested a refund, which was granted. This review is not about the attorneys' legal ability, but about the intake and consultation process. Switching attorneys without advance disclosure and changing terms after arrival is not a professional experience, particularly for clients dealing with sensitive family law matters. I hope the firm improves its intake communication and transparency for future clients.

I was referred to Jaroslawicz and Jaros by a doctor, who may have been paid to refer me…read more My case was grossly mishandled and the lawyers appointed to handle it, did not read any of my charts or ask for updated information on the status of my health or anything else that might be slightly relevant to the case. If you hire them, you may very well be throwing out a reasonable case. Moreover, David Jaroslawicz signed an agreement before uploading documents to e-courts (NYC's online, public database) that clearly stated that none of the documents contained personal information. Of course, in line with their careful and attentive nature, they uploaded my social security number, address, phone number and date of birth all on one document. Do you know how I know that? Because someone I know looked up my name and found ALL of that information, then left me a frantic voicemail. Admittedly, I had been advised that the firm's namesake was (verbatim) "a slimy guy," by another lawyer who had previously worked with them, but then again, I was so used to receiving no helpful legal advice from lawyers, that I suppose my ignorance to it was to be expected. One caveat at my settlement talk was apparently that I had [at the advice of my lawyer, Ms. Younie Choi] deleted facebook before my deposition. I am not sure how they managed to hold their own legal advice against me, but I was berated in a random, quiet part of the office by an associate of the firm, as Ms. Choi quietly watched me take crap for her advice, while I tried not to implicate her or throw her under the bus for her advice, the way she had done to me for listening to it. The second damnable piece of evidence was that I used my first and middle name, as I feel uncomfortable displaying my, "real," [last] name on facebook [such has been the case for a very long time]. A third problem was that I used a front facing camera on my Macbook, which took a mirror image photo, this is of course entirely verifiable with 0 margin for error (don't you love technology and law firms relevant enough to know how to use it?), but in their own words, they, "would not be able to convince a jury." They gave me an option to find another lawyer after the settlement hearing. (Around Christmas and New Year's) and they threatened to withdraw from the case if I opted to pursue it, rather than to settle. At the end of the day, the amount of stress, anxiety, aggravation and debt that I acquired when I opted for this firm, made it completely not worth the settlement (which was not enough cover my debts or my medical treatment going forward). The amount of sheer incompetence was unparalleled. The fact that they somehow manage to balance that prodigious volume of incompetence, carelessness and a complete lack of accountability, is really the most impressive thing about this firm. In this respect, they are excellent at multi-tasking These guys are excellent for fat people who sue McDonald's, women who sue athletes and people who allege that their herpes came from Sephora. If you have a real injury, get a real law firm. If you hire these guys, you'll get a novelty firm. It is the intellectual equivalent of taking a cap gun to the OK Corral. That's my take, anyway. I wonder how long it's gonna take before they try to get my take taken down. (Feel free to google "David Jaroslwicz" and see what the NY Times/NY Daily News, etc. have to say about him. Unrelated, but objective.) Update: 4/4/17 Abe, I am sorry you feel that way.
