Not sure what has happened with Charlie and his business. We used them last year to replant the…read moreflower beds in the front of our house and the job went great. This year we reached out to Charlie due to standing water in our back yard. Charlie recommended installing a paver patio in the area to move the water and to rework the drainage. We weren't planning on a patio and it was a lot more than we expected to pay but we agreed. Sent Charlie a 50% deposit at the end of February and the work was supposed to start March 15th. That got pushed out to March 31st. Due to various excuses and no communication unless I called him, the work started April 8th and we were told it would take about a week. After the crew worked three hours on the 8th we didn't see them again until the 14th and then not again until the 24th. Charlie blamed it on employees not showing up to work, an employee's child was sick, an employee's dog was attacked, the soil was hard and rain. Oddly, it only rained two days in the entire three weeks from the time they started. After a heated conversation with Charlie the job was finished on April 30th, three months after giving the deposit. The only time anyone from Charlies crews ever spoke to my wife or I on site was on the last day when they knocked on the door. They didn't knock to tell us it was done, to have us look at it or tell us care and maintenance instructions. They knocked to see if we wanted to settle the balance due. Poor / No communication, excuses, and a so so patio. Thank god for YouTube, I was able to find out how to seal and care for the pavers. Haven't had hard rains yet so hopefully the standing water is at least taken care of.

He's not only been the best value for the work, but he goes the extra mile to and will help with design options, pictures of other houses, samples for us to compare against, etc. He's built custom front entrances for us at one house, an in ground basketball goal at another, full sod and irrigation replacement, cypress tree install, shrubs, patio and concrete work, a full deck with a built-in fire table, a pool surround with pavers, etc etc. He is creative, like an outdoor space handyman, with skills needed to do much more elaborate jobs. He fixes things when there's a mistake, and makes sure the jobs are done. Cost is great, service is great, his guys finish quick once they get started. Definitely would recommend him!
