You don't have to tag a tree, you can just come and get one fresh cut that same day. There are plenty of fields with different varieties and during peak season they also have cocoa as well as some other holiday items. They also offer a small selection of fresh cut trees for $40!! Although about three years ago Al-Jac's moved to a new location nearby - across the Woonasquatucket River, at the corner of Kinsley and Acorn - you can still expect fanciful formations of florid firs, tip-top tree talk, a complimentary chainsaw cut, and a happy heave-ho with a twine-tie-down atop your econo-sized vehicle. Most of the trees at the farm where on top of each other and it seemed like the trees were not well cared for. The tree only lasted two weeks and all the needles fell off the tree long before Christmas. Our friend that told us about this place also had the same issue with the tree they bought here. Needless to say, we had to buy a new tree from another farm. I tried to buy local in RI but from now on I plan to go to the farm I have been going to for years in CT.

The land has been in the family for over 100 years I think, some insane amount of acreage. There's an older man that runs it he's in his 70s family run. When you get there you drive down to the very bottom pick out your tree, they tag it for you. You have to pay at least half upfront and then the rest when you pick up. Everyone was very nice it was a good experience. Just a better feeling picking out your tree then just going and buying it somewhere like we've done in the past. They have different types of trees different sizes they price it by the type and size. Ours was $76. The trees are all kind of short and fat like really fat but I kind of dig it!

We took a tractor ride back to the farm stand which is a cute shop with a large variety of ornaments and holiday decor for sale. We paid for our Christmas tree and confirmed the pick up date. Although the field was closed for cut your own, they had plenty of precut trees. We found one easily. A young guy helped us with the tree, wrote up our sale, marked it, and handed it over to be baled (and extra $2.) We also picked a beautiful wreath from the many they have on display. Inside is a shop with many little items and the area they are making the wreaths. Everyone is helpful and friendly. And they take credit cards! Most tree farms are cash or check only. You go, they give you a hand saw and a cart and you go out into their fields looking for the perfect tree. They have many different kinds of trees of all shapes and sizes. The older gentleman we talked to was super nice. Once you pick your tree, they will perform and shake service then net it all up for you. They also have beautiful wreaths for sale- they even threw a door hanger in for free. The farm is beautiful and they people are really friendly. They even let us bring our dog (as long as we promised to bring baggies and clean up after her which is more than reasonable). There are chickens roaming around and a friendly bunch of dogs on the grounds. Really great Christmas activity- we will be returning next year!
