Greenbrier Dental has been caring for our family's teeth for several years now and I have never had less than wonderful experience. I cannot say enough good things, especially about the pediatric department and Dr. Spruill! Late yesterday afternoon, we called to get our daughter seen following a playground mishap. They graciously agreed to fit us in at the end of their day. Dr. Spruill evaluated our daughter and was glad we brought her in immediately. Though we had initially been told any procedure may have to wait, he stayed well beyond closing to make sure she received the surgery she needed. He and the assistant made sure she was comfortable throughout and called back today to check on how she was feeling. They communicated easily with my husband and I, ensuring we understood what was being done as well as follow-up precautions needing to be taken. I had an amazing experience at Greenbrier Dental. I just moved here from Florida where I lived for 29 years. I tried to prior dental office Smiles of Chesapeake where I walked out they refused to do a regular cleaning insisted on a deep clean when I told them I didn't want a deep clean and that I had been going every 6 months for a cleaning for the past 30 years so I walked out. Wow! Greenbrier Dental Center is one of the best dental offices in the Hampton Roads area! I originally went to Konikoff Dentistry in Brambleton and my dentist switched there. I did not vibe with the new dentist who informed me I have 3 cavities to fill and I had pain in my teeth 2 days after my teeth cleaning. Greenbrier Dental was able to schedule a second opinion appointment and emergency check-in immediately! Dr. Balino and her assistant are so professional, caring, and nice! I have dental anxiety and they were able to be patient and explain everything to me. It turns out I only had one cavity to fill and Dr. Balino was able to fill this tooth during the same appointment. The admin staff were so welcoming greeting me as I walked into the office and reassuring me that I would be seen when my wait time took longer. I wish my insurance wasn't out of network for this office because I'd really love to stay as a patient. All staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Every single charge and procedure was broken down to me simply and made it so easy for me to understand. They were able to fit my daughter in for a tooth emergency almost same day and completely solved the problem. From the dentist to the dental assistant down to the hygienist who did the cleaning after all the work was done, everyone was so gentle and explained everything down to a T for my daughter and I. So I've been going to this dental office going on nine years. My son will be going to their pediatric dental office when he has some teeth... lol. Love love this dental office. The staff is kind and very efficient. They make sure that as soon as you walk in, you are greeted and checked in. The dental hygienist is great at what she does. She makes sure she cleans your teeth, but she isn't aggressive. She makes sure to ask how are you doing? Do you need a break? The dental doctor comes in right after and makes sure everything is good with my teeth, and she check-ups on me in general. I had a dental emergency and I did not have a local dentist. When I called Greenbrier Dental, they were able to get me in immediately. I needed a root canal and Dr. Etheridge was able to give me a root canal that day! I was terrified of the procedure, but he was reassuring and I am grateful that he was able to give me relief. I went it for a root canal operation and gave them all of my information and got examined. When they brought me the bill it was around $1800, I asked if they had payment plans and they said your only option is pay now or no operation. I asked why the bill was so high and come to find out they failed to disclose to me that my insurance was not in their network. So instead of looking out for my best interest they were fine with just taking an unseeded amount of money from a patient instead of informing me of better options. I walked out of the office for obvious reasons and they still charged me for a visit that wasted my time. read more

I have been going here for years and haven't had a single disappointing experience. All of the staff members I've ever encountered from the office staff to the hygienists/doctors are above and beyond friendly & helpful. Not only that: on my most recent visit, all three of the staff who helped me (the same crew my dad and I both get every time) remembered all about my year in Colorado, asking me how I've been since moving back. Best dentist in the 757. They have a pediatric dental attached so our whole family has one practice and I love it!

This is a unethical practice. You will be given unnecessary treatment for their profits not to improve your dental health. Sad that doctors care more about working 2 or 3 days a week than the patients. This is a practice that was good until profits and greed took over. 20 years as a patient seeing the decline was disappointing and disheartening. Do not patronize this practice find one who cares about the patients more than the bottom line. read more

Worst dentist I i have ever been to. Dr Balino Said she couldn't do anything for me other than pull all my teeth and either do dentures or implants. Got a second opinion and turns out everything was able to be corrected without implants or dentures. Do not go to them. They have no interest in saving your teeth. read more

Took my two boys (4 and 2) to the pediatric dentist today. The front desk staff was more than accommodating and were very helpful. We were taken back in a timely manner, and the dental hygienist was great with my boys. She cleaned, flossed, and took x-rays of my 4 year old with no complaints coming from him! My 2 year old was able to sit on my lap while the dentist brushed and checked his teeth which was nice. We were in and out in less than an hour, and the kids were excited to pick a prize when they were finished. Can't wait to go back in 6 months. read more

Being new to the Hampton Roads area I got recommendation for this dental office from one of my co-workers. I had my teeth cleaning and so have my teenage son. We both were very pleased with the overall experience. The waiting area is very welcoming and the front desk personnel is extremely pleasant. My son felt that the atmosphere was very relaxing and everyone treated him kindly and with respect. He got offered lip balm prior to the teeth cleaning which was very considerate and definitely helped to avoid cracked lips. I am a fan so is my son. Patient's beware. I self-paid for an emergency dental visit April 2019 with Dr. Rice. I complained (as I had at previous dental appointments) that I thought my tooth might be cracked. They took x-rays, examined/tested my teeth, and prescribed a mouth wash. I was instructed to come back if the problem flared-up again. It did one month later. Greenbrier Dental did not accept my new dental insurance so I had to change practices. It was when I changed practices that I learned what was truly going on inside my mouth. Hanbury Dental showed me photos of hairline fractures on my teeth; they told me that I had a cavity that needed to be filled which no one at Greenbrier Dental mentioned (they said it was mentioned in the treatment consent I signed which I should have read), and that the mouthwash I was prescribed by Greenbrier Dental would stain my teeth with long term use (which is another thing no one at the practice felt it was necessary to mention to me). After several months of contemplation, I asked for a refund in September 2019. I felt it was a responsible request given how Greenbrier Dental under-performed regarding my care. I received a certified letter from the practice denying my refund and instructing me to find another dental practice. That was their answer.
