The streets are a little crowded in downtown Lewisburg so it's a challenge to get a good look at the facade of the Greenbrier County Courthouse.
The three story red brick structure faces west. The original building was constructed in 1838 and stands in the center with north and south two story wings added in 1937 and 1963. The building houses the County Circuit Court of the 1ith Judicial Circuit, County Magistrate Court and Family Court.
Greenbrier County is named for the Greenbrier River that flows through the county. The county was created in 1777 and Lewisburg selected as the county seat the following year.
There is street parking adjacent. There might be a lot nearby but it was a holiday weekend so court and the county were not in session.
