The centre offers these shark diving experiences, whatever floats your boat I guess. A recent new addition to the aquarium as been "Venom". Aptly named this part of the aquarium includes some of the most venomous creatures on the planet including spiders, lion fish, vipers, insects and reptiles. If you are scared of spiders you might want to stay away from the Tarantula tower, because stepping inside you will find yourself surrounded by over 50 massive incey wincey spiders. Alongside Knowsley safari park this is the other gem of a day out for adults and kids alike. Ticket prices are similar to the safari park, £15 for adults and £11 for kids. For a day's adventure into the deep it is well worth it in my book!!! So go on dive into the world of blue planet aquarium.....

There is a huge variety of species including stingrays, sharks and a collection of amphibians too. Blue Planet Aquarium is family friendly and it's easily accessible for pushchairs. Disabled access is excellent and wheelchairs are available for hire. A restaurant offers a rest bite for tired legs and a relaxing tea break if you need it (I suggest you should)! There is a themed shop to end your day leaving you with some brilliant memories and a perhaps a special gift. I can't find anything negative to say about Blue Planet Aquarium, not that I want to; I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it to others.

They have combined a new learning and activity space within the aquarium; the Living Laboratory. In this part everyone can get up close to fish and other sea life in special low-level tanks. As interesting as aquariums are, they can often be quite boring but with the staff running regular demonstrations for the visitors and a chance to observe and properly get involved so for that reason it has to be one of the better ones that I have visited. There are many displays and activities in the Living Laboratory and they have tried their best to emphasise links between the live specimens and the museum's historic collections. Video conferencing facilities are also available, this allows to link through to behind the scenes activities, events in the Treasure House Theatre and other parts of the museum. We arrived around 10am ( opens at 9:30am on a Weekday ) and were surprised the parking lot wasn't that busy. We had prepaid our tickets / wristband etc ahead of time so didn't have to waste time there and walked in. We managed to see some of the animal exhibits and ride a few of the rides before our allocated Safari drive through of 12:30pm. Once we lined up and began our drive it took about 2 hours, it also became clear that the drive could be more efficient if people actually paid attention to the rules. If it says traffic on the right side doesn't stop ( It states if you want to see the animals to stay to the left ) then don't stop and hold up the rest, if you do then you're a problem. If it states to keep your windows half way up and not let the animals put their heads inside and you do just that then you're putting the Animals and potentially yourselves in Jeopardy, if you do then you're a problem. If it states not to feed the Giraffes because they're monitoring their diet and you then allow the Giraffe to come inside your car while feeding them then you're a problem. I hope if you're one of the above people that you're reading this because....you're an entitled problem. With that being said, the problem people aren't the fault of WMSP. Once our drive was complete we went to park back up and found the parking lot to be drastically busier than when we left. We would certainly advise you if you want to get more done to try and show up early. Price of tickets wasn't bad considering its a major attraction and the price of food and souvenirs while high didn't seem too high to us. A great day out overall and recommended.

It started off well with colourful displays which made good backgrounds for photos! - and of course lots of animals in tanks to look at and discover all sorts about. There was also a tank which was more open, where they sometimes held demonstrations and allowed the children to pet the stingrays and smaller sharks etc. But then it ended rather abruptly. We came out the other side into a gift shop, just when we were really getting into it... and after the gift shop was the exit! Overall quite disappointing for the prices. We only bought a shot glass as a souvenir because everything was rather overpriced.

The tickets cost £ 4 (adults) and children from 5 to 15 years (£ 1.50), but the little ones (under 5 years old) have free admission. I have been a couple of times, and a part the cockroaches, it always a pleasant spending some hours contemplating wild life and nature over there. The most popular animals are still the meerkats, but obviously that the wildcats, guinea pigs, among other exotic animals also add to the whole experience. Definitely a children's friendly spot, perfect for a picnic in family, if you fancy bringing your own snack. If not, there is a café on the site. A better way of finding more information about the Nature Centre is visiting their facebook page because their page at Birmingham City Council website is very simple and just provides basic information about the locale.

Especially when you look through the floor/net to see the floor of the cavern a long long way down. The only thing missing was some music to jump to. This is the only one of its kind in the world apparently so pretty special. It's a really hard workout too, even the regular exercisers needed a few sit downs! You keep getting up again though as it's so much fun! We kept falling over all the time as it's quite hard to keep your balance, I don't know how some people were playing rugby! Helmets and boiler suit were a good idea although it all got a bit sweaty. I went with a group of 10 and only 1 person didn't enjoy it, so pretty good odds. The person that didn't like it has a real fear of heights and didn't really enjoy the bouncing much either. I do have a bit of a fear of heights too and am also slightly claustrophobic but I definitely enjoyed it. I did struggle a bit with the netting slides but once done they're fine :) One of my friends did say though that some people were coming down the climbing up chutes as that's the only option apart from the slides to get back back down. A less daunting third option would be good please!

For £25 you get an hour's trampolining, bouncing from cavern to cavern, climbing up ladders and snaking down tubular slides from level to level. Make sure you have trainers on and some light clothing too, as you'll get so hot with all the bouncing about. Safety helmets (and attractive hairnets) are compulsory and the safety briefing is pretty comprehensive too. The age range in there is brilliant - grandparents bouncing alongside kids. If you want to make a day of it, there's plenty of other activities on site too - from Europe's tallest zip wire, to a quarry explorer 4x4 trip. Café on site too - predictably on the pricey side but clean and roomy. Definitely worth a visit!
