I'll admit, embarrassingly so, that I haven't prioritized self-care as much as I should, especially as a spine patient. Long gaps between visits are on me. Even so, every time I return, the experience never disappoints. Most recently, I saw Brittany again for a massage, and she was outstanding. As a postoperative spine patient, feeling heard and understood is critical, and she listens attentively, is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely personable. Always heading up to LA to get it worked on, but I can't head up north all the time and not getting continuous treatments. (I would have less pain for months) So I found this place on Google and Dr. Kwak had moved to this new location after being on the other side of a Escondido for 6 years. After cupping, acupuncture, and massage, I was able to rotate/move my shoulder up a bit without pain. I've been to several others in San Diego, Rancho Bernardo, and Escondido, and have not had immediate relieving results on initial treatment. I had lower back pain for at least three months with no improvements. I got so frustrated. I had to stop working and stopped taking my kids out because I can't sit for longer than 45 mins. Thankfully I found Sage hill. They helped me a lot. Acupuncture visit at Sage hill is one hour for only one patient. (The other place I went before them was about 15- 20 mins while the acupuncturist had other 1-2 patients to take care of). Acupuncturist Michael at Sage hill is very patient and listen to me about my symptoms and improvements carefully each visit. And he always takes note. He put needles in gently. Besides acupuncture, he also put a Chinese medicine patch on my back by the end of the visit without extra charge. He also did cupping for my back pain and Gua Sha for my should pain after acupuncture without extra charge as well. He taught me two stretch positions which helped my recovery before I had physical therapy. My physical therapist also recommended the same stretch positions later on. (The acupuncture I went before them didn't do anything else besides acupuncture) His wife Ivy is so nice. When I contacted them for the first appointment, they were booked out for two weeks. I needed acupuncture badly at that time. Ivy suggested the other acupuncture clinics they recommend and trust in town. Luckily I got a spot with them the following week because of other people's cancellation. I am so happy I ended up with them. They are professional, patient and kind.
