This is a fun store to browse through. There's a range of homeware goods, little trinkets, carved wooden statues - though I have to admit most of them are out of my price range.
It was the clothes here I liked the most. There's a very wide range - some hippy-style stuff, and then funkier tops and very awesome skirts. I like skirts and girly clothing (as well as jeans and t-shirts with slogans to make my geek status clear), and there's an abundance of girly but still very funky clothing there. One unique skirt (the yellow skirt featured in the photos) was available in multiple colours and comprised of layers and layers of fabric sewn together, showing the work that went into the object. This justifies the price tag ($145).
Many of the homeware goods aren't really up my alley, but I'm not someone who's in the market for this stuff. There's a few things that might be appropriate if I was buying for a boss who'd moved into a new place, or for someone who enjoyed slightly more upmarket goods. For example, the store stocked a ceramic red butterfly figurine/statue, which looked a little like a second-hand item to me (but wasn't) and cost $55. For a ceramic butterfly that doesn't do much except for, well, lie on a desk... you'd want it to be pretty awesome. Or you'd want to just LOVE butterflies.
There's a range of wooden earrings here that reminded me of what you could get in the Valley Mall or even at another store in Paddington for much cheaper.
I was impressed with the clothing, most of all. I'd come back here based on the clothes alone. read more
