You will *not* be making big glass blowing items or learning about that type of larger glass work (which uses a different type of glass and tools). You have the option of making a small marble, flower, leaf, ring, fish (all items are a few inches big at most). - This class has a ton of room for creativity and independence! It also equips you with the basics of lampworking with glass. Alex was a fantastic teacher and did a great job giving context to the glass type, tools, things to watch out for, and just general guidance. After that, we had a lot of independence and made majority of the items ourselves. He was also super receptive to questions and allowing us to learn new ideas/techniques. - The class is up to 2 hours, but we finished our items within 1.5 hours with a lot of customization! - In a couples class you'll make 2 items side-by-side. You're not necessarily working together, but it's a really cool activity to do with a partner/friends as you're working/learning at the same time! Overall we really enjoyed this class and had fun learning new techniques and creating funky items with lots of time to be creative/independent. If you're interested in less independent/more guided step-by-step class or larger glass blowing class, Hollywood Hot Glass Studio provided a very different type of glass class! The lead technician, Gilbert, and the coordinator/manager Carmen were both incredibly helpful and from the moment I met Gilbert, I got the impression that he would be a great guy to know down in Miami. He's a guy that knows a lot of people and knows how to get things done. He really knew what he was doing and everyone was very impressed with him. From GE, we were able to rent some very high quality projectors, large projection screens, a high-quality sound system, even easels! Maria was a doll and assured us everything would be ok for the party- and she delivered! They are professionals and all their equipment looks new and well taken care of! I thought that the price was fair considering all the work they did for the party! All the kids loved the cotton candy machine and the lady who was working the machine was able to get it so big (wish we had pics but we devoured it as quickly as we got them!)! The bounce house was a hit with the kids, (and some of the kids at heart). I'm super impressed with the experience and will be recommending the service to all my friends- thank you!
