She's really good. But because she's that good she's also really busy. She works from her home. Organized but again super busy. My advice : don't do a last minute thing with her. It's a 50/50 chance you might not get your way. I wasn't rushing so I'm good. But she changed the date on me twice for pick up. I dealt with it but made me think. Twice. The owner, also the seamstress, was super polite and professional. She has been doing this for over 25 years and is super detail oriented. I brought in pants for a simple hem job and my wife brought in a formal dress to alter. She used a super cool marking tool on the dress, which showed me her attention to detail. We trusted her with alterations of a beautiful and expensive dress and she did not disappoint. She had my pants ready in a few days and the dress in few weeks. We were not in a rush so let her take her time, if needed she was going to do it sooner. I would definitely bring alterations to her again. Her prices were very reasonable. Vera is your seamstress, look no further. I wish I'd called her to begin with! She fixed my wedding dress that had been altered not well enough. She found ways to improve it that I didn't even notice needed improving, but it definitely looked so much better after she fixed it. The biggest problem was the dress cups, which I thought was a lost cause. She made it fit perfectly without me having to use tape or inserts. She also fixed the bustle which started coming apart at my first appointment with her. And she did all of this in a short amount of time so I would have it in time for my wedding! Incredible work at great prices! After buying a new suit somewhat impulsively, it became quite apparent I was not going to in it well; the sleeves were too short and the pants too long. I tried many things, including stretching the sleeves. Green Mountain Alterations took this suit and turned it into not only something usable, but the suit I wore to my wedding. It now fits perfectly, and I wear it all the time. I literally couldn't wear this suit before taking it to Green Mountain Alterations. She has altered my rehearsal jumpsuit for my wedding, my brunch wedding outfit and a few casual dresses. They all fit perfectly and are incredibly flattering. Honestly, I'm still devastated that she ruined my wedding dress. I needed minor alterations. I gave her the dress at least 6 months before the wedding. Vera made me come in to her workshop about 6x, every time nothing was done to the dress. It was just discussing the alterations every time. The Tuesday before my wedding (which was on a Saturday) I came in and my dress was ruined. All 6x prior the dress fit like a glove. All I needed was for her to add cups, take in the shoulder straps a bit, hem it, and make a veil. She didn't know how to work with the stretchy, expensive material of my gown and so while working with the dress she completely stretched it out. Parts that fit beautifully on my body completely hung loose. She minimized the long train the dress had. She couldn't create the veil as she promised, but didn't reveal that until the week of the wedding. Even the cups she added messed up the neckline of the dress. It was overall an absolutely terrible experience and I am still angry about it. I had to go in almost every day the week of my wedding to try to fix the dress. Most importantly the fit, which had never been an issue prior to that terrible Tuesday. The dress ended up being too tight everywhere and it is very apparent in all of the pictures. Overall I absolutely do not recommend using her. Sure, you'll get a good price, but unless it's a bargain dress, don't use a bargain seamstress. read more

Vera did a wonderful job working with my wedding dress in such a short time during prom season! I traveled 250 miles to see her for each appointment because I couldn't trust anyone in Grand Junction to work on my dress. She was very accommodating with my schedule to make appointments that would work for me and I really appreciated her to-the-point attitude. I would definitely recommend taking any garment your need altered to Vera, she will be direct and honest with you, give you fair prices, and do outstanding high-quality work. Vera was very transparent with me about any changes that could be made to my dress, made suggestions for things that were up to my opinion, and things that she could do if I needed her to. After only 20 minutes of speaking with her it was very apparent that she is very knowledgeable and highly experienced. What I thought was a complicated issue with the fit of the bodice she was able to give a solution immediately and had it pinned in five minutes. Vera fixed the issues with my bodice, you never would have know it had been altered because even where she took it in on the sides she adjusted the lace to look perfect (even better than before!). Vera literally saved my wedding. I spent 500$ at a different place and when I went to pick up my dress I couldn't move my arms. Literally. I was mortified and only had 2 weeks until the wedding. I showed up at green mountain alterations during a pandemic without calling and I was like HELP ME. And she did. She fixed the sleeves in 2 weeks just in time for my wedding. I will never go anywhere else ever again. She is the best. The other place told me they could fix the sleeves when in reality they had no idea how to do it after having it for 3 months.
