Last time we were there, we both had puddins, the sticky toffee. I had it with cream, because I'm like that. And Pimms. Although not the bestest ever, it was a good sticky pudding. I came away feeling nicely full too. I think this is just about my favourite pub in Wimborne. It's got a friendly feel and the music suits me and it's not too loud. Very pleasant frontage too.

The pub itself is on the small side, with the bar in the centre of the pub. They do serve food and it's average bar snacks and nice sunday roasts. The prices to go with this are well priced to match the competition in town which is a plus for a nice afternoon out rather than evening. My negatives for this pub is that children aren't as welcome as they are in other pubs in the surrounding area. I think this is a shame as it would encourage me to visit more frequently if they were.

It has some climbing equipment for children. Indoors is also large and well laid out. No one crowds anyone. There is also a room for children. I had my daughter's birthday party here for about four years - to save on stress, work, and anxiety! The staff are great about lighting the candles in the kitchen etc and cutting the cake etc. In those few years we just had one nosebleed! It's become a Brewers Fayre, so the food is fairly predictable. It's just that they do it really nicely. Because it's an old faithful. I haven't been for a while - I want to really enjoy coming back here when I do.

The menu is fairly small but with quite a few sections, starters, mains, desserts, side dishes, baked potatatoes etc. And it is very reasonably priced. I haven't given this a fifth star because if business is minimal, last orders will be at 9.30. This is fair enough but it can bring a sudden halt to a good conversation. I didn't see the toilets, but I would hazard a guess that they are clean, like the rest of the pub.
