The young man who did my MRI was so nice. I was very nervous as I have a bit of claustrophobia, he talked me through the procedure and made me feel safe and comfortable. We paid a fraction of the typical cost for an MRI (with interpretation included) AND got a call from the interpreting radiologist the day after the exam (on a weekend, no less) to review the findings. Seriously, the cost for the WHOLE exam was less than a typical post-insurance copay charge. They told me that I was possibly dehydrated and I should have been drinking water. Are you kidding me? Oh, and they charged my credit card for a procedure they could not do! I cannot believe how very fortunate I am to have Dr. Joyner on my medical team. Her bedside manner…read moreis top notch. She gives you the information you need and speaks to you in a soothing manner. She always was full of hugs. That made me feel so good at such a dark time in my life. When you are her patient, it is not the best time in your life. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and she was recommended to me by my surgeon Dr. Bonefas. I told my BFF who I was seeing. Low and behold, my BFF had taught Dr. Joyner's children. Small world. After meeting her, I could totally see myself hanging out with this woman. Her personality is delightful and she has a great sense of humor. I know you would not think that at a time like this your doctor would be cracking jokes. She wasn't, it was me. My humor kept me going. When it reached a point that I could no longer take the pain to go to work, Dr. Joyner wrote a note so I could work from home. No one needed to hear me moaning and groaning. I really was hoping that I could make it the entire time and be in the office. Yeah not so much. In addition to her being so knowledgeable and kind, her staff is amazing. From the receptionist, her nurse Suzanne, the techs (sorry guys I can only recall one name) Dale and the two gals. Everyone was great. Going to radiation therapy is no walk in the park whatsoever. And Dale was on the money when he said it will get worse before it gets better. Good golly! I called and spoke to Dr. Joyner and she is going to write another note. She made sure I had meds to help with the pain and gave me further instructions on what to slather myself with. It is a journey. If you are looking for an oncologist/radiologist, I cannot imagine anyone in the Houston area any finer than Dr. Joyner. She is a doll and knows her stuff! 1,000 Halley puppies wag their tails and look for the techs and yell "Who's Deanna?" (FYI - I said a line from The Walking Dead each day before I was zapped to signal that I was ready. I tried to keep my sense of humor going even under adverse conditions.)

She made me nervous because she acted so strange! After she finished with her procedure she did not wipe off the gel she used for the procedure. This is the 1st time in 10 or more ultrasounds that have had that the tech didn't do this which further added it to my concerns! This is the first negative experienceI have had at Herman Memorial imaging center, and truly, I could've done without it! If it were possible, this experience would rate zero stars!
