I blindly chose Green Taxi a while back to take me to the airport and I liked the driver so much that I made sure to call them again today when I needed another ride to LAX. The person who answered the phone was very nice and easy to understand and said the cab would be there in 10 minutes, but it actually arrived in about 5! The driver, who turned out to be one of the owners, was very helpful with my bag and made pleasant conversation throughout the ride, though I have a feeling he's the type that wouldn't bug you if you weren't in the mood to chat. He told me that this company is owner-operated, which I thought was cool because it gives them a bit more accountability with their drivers. One irrational pet peeve of mine is when the driver asks how I want to get to the airport, the freeway or local. Obviously they do this drive many times a day and would know at any given time of the day which is the better route to take but I think sometimes they insist you decide so that if there's traffic or it takes forever you can't blame them (not that I would). This guy just took the bull by the horns and chose a great, short route and got me to LAX in no time. This is a horrible cab service!! The phone number listed isn't even a business telephone number but a guy's cell phone. I called this service for two cabs to LAX for an international flight and what a mess!! The driver couldn't find our business partner in Malibu and she was 40 minutes late to the airport. I don't believe the whole "GPS failure" thing because Music Express has made it up there plenty of times. The driver called and let us know he was out front of our house when in fact, we were standing outside and he was no where to be seen. He was obviously at the wrong house and we were 20 minutes late. The entire operation is a mess! I could go on, but this alone is enough for me to never use this service again. My peace of mind when traveling is too precious. First time: amazing. Cheapest rates in town and a nice black prius. Really nice driver, Hussein. 2nd time: a bit more expensive and the driver was a jerk. But, still black prius and decent service. 3rd time (not the charm): trusty green taxi called for a little transport assistance. The driver arrives 10 minutes early, calls, when we are (rushing) down there he has left. So the dispatcher I talked to said I'd have to wait 30 or 40 minutes, because that driver couldn't wait three! So I turned to Lotus Taxi, who rushed a driver over in 7 minutes flat. Nice guy. This company is terrible. DON'T USE THEM! If I could give them no stars I would, but Yelp doesn't allow it. They don't even deserve the one star I gave them. So here's what happened: I was going to use them, even despite their low star rating on yelp. I was drawn to the fact that they use nice prius' and eco-friendly cars. But when I called yesterday and made the reservation, the dispatcher, 'Ryan' I believe is his name, was incredibly rude. He seemed annoyed or that I was wasting his time. Then today, we had a change of plans and don't need the taxi afterall, so I called to cancel. I got the same Ryan-guy again and he was so unprofessional - he hung up on me before I finished speaking - so I had to call him back, and he was still rude. Hangs up again without even saying Bye - what an a**hole. It's a shame because I work for a huge corporate company that he could have had regular business with. But now I will NEVER use them. Used them for a taxi from Malibu to LAX and negotiated a flat rate. The cab came unmarked and was a black Prius, which was surprising since I was expecting a marked yellow/green/white vehicle. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE I used this service before, guy smoked the whole time, but it was a pruis so I thought I paid more for a reason. This time they sent a normal kia when we asked for a mini van the hungarian driver insisted on $50 for $17 TAXI trip. They do not stick to the agreed upon rate, no city posted license -nothing , when you call the office the supervisor is never in. Save your green this is not a company I would recommend. He picked us up in a Lincoln Towncar with the most comfy seats, had the A/C on for us so we were comfy, and we were at LAX in perfect time! I was on vacation in Santa Monica with my girlfriend and some buddies. We used this service from our hotel to a bar and back again. They were punctual and friendly. We had a little too much to drink and on the way back, had to pull over so my girlfriend could puke out the beers and shooters she consumed. The driver was very cool about it and even had a laugh with us. Will def. use them again next time i'm in the area. read more

Great Service! I called them for a ride from LAX to Santa Monica. They didn't have any cars available so Ryan the supervisor, came and picked me up. He was very professional and got me home safely. The cars are in great condition. They are basically brand new. It felt more like a friend was picking me up than a regular taxi. After arriving at my place, I thought I had everything..I realized I had forgotten my phone, but the car was already gone. I hunted down a pay phone (since my cell phone is my only phone) and called the dispatcher who told me that Ryan was already on top of it and basically back at my location. I arrived back at my apartment to find Ryan waiting outside with my phone. I am a college student and my mom is the worrisome type even with me being a upperclassman..She had been texting me due to me flying into LA tonight from IL.. Ryan saw that and sent a text to her asking for a way to contact me to get the phone back to me. I am very appreciative of this company and the service that it offers. I guess I should have checked the Yelp reviews before attempting to use this service. If I could give zero stars, I would. Attempted to "do the right thing" by searching for a green taxi service. I also really liked that I could book on-line. I'm an Executive Assistant at a Financial Company and was attempting to get my Senior Vice President boss to the airport. Though I received an email confirming receipt of my reservation, the taxi did not show up. When I called to inquire (10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time), they claimed to never have received my reservation. Sorry, bad first impression = boycott for me. read more

I have used Green Taxi about once a month for the last year and a half. They started off great, arriving on time and getting me to the airport quickly. Recently though, (the last 5 or 6 times) they have not been on time. When I called to find out when they will be here, they say "under 5 minutes" and this has never been the case. On average they are 15-20 minutes late, causing tremendous stress about whether I'll miss my flight. Once they finally do arrive, they assure me they'll drive quickly to the airport to get me there on time. I've seen the speedometer read over 90 MPH, which is incredibly frightening. Not only are they breaking the law, but they are putting my life in danger. Bad policy. I will not be using this company any more. read more

I called with high hopes for this Green Taxi co, but they fell short before I even got to get in. I called earlier in the day (3:30 PM) and gave my address, name, phone number time of pick up (8:30 PM) and even gave the address of my destination. I even mentioned that I needed a car that could fit a bike in the back and got a quote for the travel to the location. Then, nothing. No one showed up, I called at 8:45 and the dispatcher (same person I'd spoken to earlier in the day) didn't have any record of the booking, my call, the questions I'd asked them, etc and denied I'd ever spoken to them. If there's one thing I can't stand is a company that can't admit their mistakes. Green cars don't make up for HORRIBLE service. read more

I had an early morning flight out of LAX. I called and reserved a car the day before with an agreed upon time. The driver did not show up at the scheduled time. When I called to ask where my car was, the dispatcher told me "they are very busy this time of year and had to be patient" when I said I had a flight to catch he became rude, and dropped the "F" bomb. I booked a taxi through Green Taxi for a trip to LAX. They sent out a passenger van with no meter or apparent license to drive passengers. The guy tells me it's a flat deal from Venice. Since when? Did I ask for a flat deal? I go to LAX often so I know how much is usually on the meter ($25.) The flat "deal" was $27... Just a blank white van. No logo, decal or official LADOT taxi license displayed. This is highly illegal as far as I know and should be seriously looked into by the LADOT. It's been reported to the LADOT. Nobody should get into a taxi/ van such as this as they may have no insurance for you if there is an accident. For all I know the driver could have been an illegal immigrant unlicensed driver. Be very careful. I would avoid these guys in the future. read more

My wife and wanted to used this service because of it's "green" focus. Ha. They're more interested in your green than the environment. The driver was prompt and friendly. I had visited their website to get the phone number and there was a 10% coupon that I could "print and present to the driver to receive 10% off". First of all, how "green" is printing a coupon!?!?! I mentioned it to the driver en route and he said that he probably couldn't honor it, but I could call the boss. So I called the boss and was told that it was only good for fares over $45. That's not what the coupon and the website said. I explained to the boss that I had just gotten it from their website, but he was unwilling to give me the 10% ($3) off. These are unmarked cars. To me, it looks like a couple of guys that had eco-cars and decided to start a cab company and ride on the "green" wave, but didn't bother to get permits or register with the city. They don't have meters, but instead quote you a price over the phone. The fare was about the same as a regular cab. I don't like dishonesty. If they can't be honest and honorable about a coupon, it only makes you wonder what other types of crap might be going on. Unmarked cars... no meters... I won't be using them again. read more

These guys do not have it together. Called for airport ride from my place in Venice at 8:55pm. They told me 15-20min. Come 9:30, still no cab. Called and they said the cab was out on the street. I said I was out on the street at the intersection where I told them to pick me up and they weren't there. The guy said he'd call me back. 5 minutes later he calls me and says the cab is in the alley behind my place, instead of where I told them to pick me up. The driver got me to the airport on time, but it was stressful because if security was bad I probably would've missed my flight. It definitely shouldn't take 45 minutes for a cab to show up. I have used this service 10-15 times with no problem until yesterday. This experience is driving my business elsewhere though. 1) I called dispatcher since the car was already 5 minutes late. Headed to the airport so can't be late. 2) Dispatcher says she will contact driver and get right back to me. 3) Another 5 minutes have passed so I call in again and am told the driver can't make it so they are calling a backup who will be there in 15 minutes. Why didn't they call me and give me the option to wait? I didn't have time so canceled. They really thought I was just going to wait there for another 15 minutes without knowing what is going on? The dispatcher was not apologetic and didn't seem to understand why I could be mad. Don't use this service if you need to be on time. read more

These guys were very polite on the phone and easy to book with. They showed up early to get us at LAX and provided nice conversation on the way to our destination. The fee was better than most. I like that they had a flat fee from the airport. Most companies only have a flat fee to LAX (not from). We were charged a fair $40 from LAX to Santa Monica. All in all, I think I would book with them again if LAX Transport isn't available. LAX transport was my first choice but I booked too late to get them. read more

Not as advertised. Green? Prius? Maybe in their dreams. I booked the service because ever since I discovered Planettran I try to get a ride in a hybrid, preferably a Prius. I even asked for a Prius under special requests. What showed up was an ancient Lincoln SUV with an inside that reeked of smoke. In other words, their whole spiel of being green is just a big fat lie. TERRIBLE! We were glad to find a taxi company that claimed to have carseats, and were able to book online. Our confirmation noted that we required a toddler carseat (and we also indicated the weight and age of our daughter). When the car showed up however, the driver had an infant carseat. Furthermore, the seat was uninstalled, without instructions, and the driver had no idea how to adjust anything or install it (even if it had been big enough). The dispatcher was unwilling to send out another car. We had to take the taxi with our 2 year old in my lap. No confirmation email despite the fact that I called to say I had not received one. When no one arrived at the designated time, I called and was told that the driver was on his way. I used Green Car for the first time last weekend and I genuinely can't sing their praises loudly enough. I had a complicated travel objective - to move a party of 7 people from Westwood to Downtown for an open-bar wedding, with two different departure times; and then to move those same seven people back home after it was over, with two different departure times AND from separate locations - and they were able to accommodate every step of it at an entirely reasonable cost. All four cars were on time (headed downtown during a Dodger game and, ultimately, a tanker crash on the 5), and the service was every bit as convenient as I'd hoped it would be. One driver even came back to the drop-off location because we'd left an item in his car! I don't know what all these one-star reviewers were after, but if Green Car couldn't help them, I'd wager no one could. read more

It's unfortunate that this review has to be written but I just couldn't let it go. Green Car Service agreed to a pickup earlier in the week. However when I called to confirm the pickup and possibly get the drivers name, they not only said that they don't have a confirmed driver, but that one might not be available for pickup. They not only didn't think to call me and inform me ahead of time, but also had an attitude when I was surprised by the news. They've always been on time (or early without any rush to leave before the agreed upon time) and always get me to LAX quickly. The cars are clean and the drivers are friendly. read more

I thought they were great the first time I used the service. No problems, really informal reservation but they were at my door as promise and at the airport. The second time a flight coming in to LAX at midnight. They did not have a car. I emailed when making the reservation that I had no luggage. When they told me no car was waiting they told me I would be a while waiting for my luggage and they would have someone there in 20 mins. what did I want to do? I told them I was already at the exit door ( no cabs in sight ). They did send someone within 20 minutes ( not nice at midnight ). and offered me a whopping $5 discount. I did not hold this against the driver from the other company they sent. He was tipped well etc. I did ask for a future discount and never heard from the company, bad business relations NOT RELIABLE oh and I found the company by using yelp so it is the least I can do is write a review read more

What can you say about a taxi service that doesn't show up? Not much. Pick up was reserved a few days in advance for my 4am pick up and confirmed at 11am and 11pm the day prior. At 4am, was anyone at my house or there at the 24 hour taxi service to take my frantic call? No! I'm off to write another review of the other taxi cab I called at 4am to see if they'd come get me (internat'l flight was leaving in 2 hours) after telling them my sad story. When I asked him about the car he said 'green is only name of company'. He then refused to take the freeway to the airport from Eagle Rock- saying it's shorter via streets. Horrible!!!!!! Green Taxi was not only unreliable but horribly rude. I called a taxi early in the afternoon for a cab that night. The cab never showed up so I called and even after realizing their mistake they were not apologetic at all. They said they would send another cab right away which did not show up either. I called back and they told me to stop calling because it was taking away from other customers. After waiting an hour I called another cab company. Awful service. Made a reservation, agreed on a flat rate and when came time to pay was forced to pay a higher price saying I agreed to it when I made the reservation. When I got on the phone with the supervisor, he had absolutely no idea or skills to deal with conflict and just yelled until I had no choice but to pay otherwise I would miss my flight. Wouldn't hear of it and said I had to pay what he felt was appropriate regardless of what we had agreed upon earlier. Really shady and unbelievable. Never again. read more

**BEWARE** - THEY OVER-CHARGE! I chose this company specifically because they are green. I will have higher criteria in the future! My daughter and her friends were at a party and needed to come home. I had a few drinks and wasn't going to drive so called them a cab. She was only 10 blocks away and could easily have walked home, but being that it was New Years Eve and 1:00am I wanted to know she would be safe. There weren't any problems with the pick up etc. the problem was with the cost. They charged me $28 DOLLARS TO GO 10 BLOCKS - not including tip!!!!! Talk about taking advantage. Totally Undependable. Picture this. You reserved to be picked up at LAX before your trip -- 14 prior. And then when you are flying home -- they call the day you are flying to confirm! They called when I was in the air! I arrived with my wife and two kids at LAX Sunday evening 11 PM and no car.
