Visited Greedy Reads for Independent Bookstore Day and had a time! The staff is amazing! Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They have little notes with info about the books, which got me interested in a couple books that wouldn't have been on my list otherwise. The prices were fair and I loved that they had other cute items like stickers and greeting cards. Will definitely be back!

This is such a cool bookstore! I was in the area for business and saw this on my way to the hotel and I couldn't pass it up! It was so adorable and let me tell you, looks are deceiving. It looks small on the outside but there are so many books to choose from!! I found two books that were from two Arab authors and have been wanting to read, so diversity in authors was there! The owner was there and answered any questions and also offered som suggestions. She was so friendly and I didn't want to leave! I even picked up a tote bag as my memorabilia! It's priced as other bookstores. It was wonderful to see an independent bookstore! I loved Greedy Reads!

this place was absolutely whimsical and I will always buy my books from them. The associate that helped me find books was super helpful and very knowledgeable on everything. And as a creative person, I loved their branded merch. They even had a map of the different independent bookstores in Baltimore that you can go and visit which I thought was pretty cool as well.

A tiny independent bookstore located in Fells Point neighborhood. The selections of books were excellent given that spaces were limited. The oldest daughter located the book she needed for her book club. The sole employee was very friendly.

The original greedy reads location is here in fells point! This location is super tiny, but packed to the brim with really great literary books and they have a children's corner. With book popularity, I've noticed as of late a few books are not in stock but they can ALWAYS order them for you. They do offer a membership program, but otherwise greedy reads is not known to do any sales or discounts, so expect to pay regular book prices! The owner Julia is really friendly and Santiago, the general manager is such a gem. You can always walk in and talk to them about books. Their event last weekend is always such a great hit. Also don't sleep on their cruise events where you do a book swap and sunset around the harbor. It's such a fun event. This location can get hot because the door usually stays open as it looks like a townhome.

As I was looking through the selections on various tables, I thought to myself that I could easily be best friends with whomever is curating the books. For a very small space, this shop has an EXCELLENT selection.

This is a small, independent bookstore located in the heart of Fells Point. Parking is difficult close by, I'd recommend parking several blocks away toward Patterson Park and walking over if you can't find nearby. Though they do have a small selection as a result of the size of their shop, they carry lovely limited edition covers of books as well as stickers, tote bags, and a range of books from fiction to nonfiction. I did see more ""indie"" books here as well as books that are trending on reading websites / Goodreads. I am told they can order a book for you if they don't have it in stock which is nice as I prefer horror and didn't see a lot of books regarding that.

Cute little corner bookstore in Fells Point! I've passed by this store so many times but hadn't stopped in yet until today. A motivator was to use the Women Run Baltimore Yelp check-in offer to get 50% off a paperback book before the deal ended. The store associate there was friendly and helpful with my questions. It's a packed little store but has a really good selection. I'll def be back!

Ask the Community - Greedy Reads

Do you sell books from local writers? I have written a book on the Madison Cat Colony a feral cat colony in Baltimore, about homeless cats of Baltimore and caregivers who care for them. I am asking local bookstores to take a few copies.

What a charming new and used bookstore in fed hill. I've seen this store for years and years and…read morenever stopped in. But I was in the area checking out a new vintage store and thought I'd pop in. Retail is kind of dying in this area, but book escape was thriving. There were lots of people in there browsing and reading. There's a really cute back area with a mermaid mural and a reading nook. There's a lot of brand new books sold at 15% off, which are among the best sellers list. I thought in this economy - what a steal of a deal that is! The front desk is right around the front corner and the owner seemed nice. There's a huge selection of music in the corner and I thought that for a used bookstore, it was really well organized. It is a little clustered, but overall really bright and airy and lots of books!

Since I was nearby I thought id pop in and see if they had anything good to read. I ended up not only finding a book for the day but also a book ive been wanting to add to my collection! They have such a large variety of books and everything is laid out so well. Next time i go i plan on picking up a blind bag of books just to see what kind of wanders I find!

I initially stopped by to pick up the latest release from one of my favorite authors, but somehow left with two books instead. (Book lovers will understand!) I was warmly greeted when I arrived, and the welcoming atmosphere immediately made me want to linger and browse. What I appreciate most about MahoganyBooks is that it does much more than sell books. The bookstore is intentional about creating space for authors of color to be seen, celebrated, and supported. From book signings and author events to community activities and wellness-focused gatherings, it's clear that they're building community through literature and culture. After browsing the shelves, I visited the small café inside the bookstore for a smoothie before taking my new books down to the waterfront. Finding a bench by the water and reading a few pages while enjoying the beautiful views of National Harbor was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Between the thoughtfully curated book selection, welcoming atmosphere, café, and beautiful waterfront location, the experience feels like much more than a trip to a bookstore.

Great place for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Children and educator would greatly benefitread more

For the price, can't be beat!…read more The model is simple: donate your books (up to 7 boxes per visit). They give them away for free! According to their website, you can't take more than 150,000 books per visit, so don't be too greedy, you bookworms! They sell 1-2% of donated books to cover overhead, but everything else is volunteer basis, keeping The Book Thing a free community even once a month. Be prepared to wait in line. We arrived at 11:45 so most of the big rush had faded. They let people in on the hour, with a max of 100 people in per time. If you arrive after someone leaves, they can let you in to finish that hour out. You could make a day of it - there are several cafés, breweries, and restaurants in the area that you could visit before or afterwards. Inside there are three rooms - red, blue, and green. They are organized by genres. A warning: this is not for claustrophobic people. It gets crowded and while people are generally polite and respectful, you will rub shoulders with plenty of other bibliophiles. My kids enjoyed it, though Child #1 was a tad overwhelmed and Child#3 wanted to get out of his umbrella stroller and run around! They all picked out something that was just for them. My wife gathered several books and I picked up a couple for myself. When you leave, you need to count your books and tell them that number (for their record-keeping) and your ZIP code. Other than that, it's a great deal, not to mention a fun way to meet other folks in the community. One parent reminisced about how her (now grown) daughter used to love a series that my middle child was looking at. I overheard one woman asking about a particular genre and a volunteer told her that those usually get picked over pretty early. So while there is more of a wait and higher demand closer to opening time, it sounds like there are some choicer items that are available then. DONATION - there is a small one-way road that leads around the back. After the morning rush, it seemed like it moves quickly. There's a small parking pad where you can pull up and give your books to some volunteers. Parking - it's Waverly, so pretty much street parking and you will have to look. We lucked out and saw someone leaving their spot right by the donation drop-off, so we were able to park close. If you have a bunch of books that could use a new home, come donate them here! If you are curious about grabbing some new books for yourself, drop on by! Just check the website for specific dates - it can vary from month to month what's available.
