This pub has a really nice welcoming feel to it when you first walk in. It's located in the middle of no where but that aside, its got a decent amount of parking so you don't have to part in the street.
The service is probably one of the better things to note about this place. The bar staff are really attentive and prompt and the service staff is excellent as well. Unfortunately for them however, the food is just mediocre. While the menu looks really nice and tempting, I was disappointed by the soggyish half fish and half scampi dish. The batter was either too much in some parts or just soggy. We had a large party so others had the thai curry (which he said wasn't really thai curry), some had regular fish and chips and another salad. While no one complained about their meal, no one said that it was extraordinary. Ironically almost the whole table also ordered dessert. Now, I've had one too many sticky toffee pudding in my day.. and I have to say this is the first place that had very little "sticky" in their pudding. The sauce was no where to be found. And the sponge was ... just bland. Someone asked me what I thought of it and I should have had more tact but I said I wouldn't order it again if I came here.
Yes, it was that disappointing. Dessert is the one thing that shouldn't be disappointing but it was. Would we come here again? Not unless we were forced to by majority vote (which is what happened this night with some friends). But hubby and I won't be making our way out here again. read more
