They're just blatantly false…read more I've had two kids in this school since 2015 (one now in 8th grade at the middle school around the corner and one in 4th grade currently). Yes, Bev (the FORMER front office clerk) wasn't the most friendly person you run into but after my sons first year I had a great relationship with her. If you treat people with respect, you get respect in return. That's clear in some of these reviews that there was no rapport or relationship with any of these people and the school. Are you surprised the school told you no to pull your kid out because you missed them??? Wait 2 hours and enjoy them after school. The school doesn't owe you anything...ever...except to keep you child safe while they learn. And this school does both very well. Highly rated be Great Schools for a reason. My family has only ever had one teacher we didn't care for and her contract was not extended from what I understand. The staff and administration do care for these kids and do a wonderful job educating them both academically and socially. On May 1, 2026, two students admitted to using a school-issued iPad and Google Translate to program the device to say, "Amir is a N-word" out loud in the classroom in front of other students and staff. As a father, I expected an incident this serious to be handled with transparency, accountability, urgency, and concern for my son's well-being. Instead, I was left with more questions than answers. I had concerns about how the incident was officially classified, what consequences and protections were put in place, how the students would be separated from my son, how staff would prevent retaliation or additional harassment, and why my son could potentially be the one removed from a classroom if he felt uncomfortable rather than the students responsible for the incident. I was also disappointed with the lack of transparency surrounding the investigation. I was not provided the information I requested regarding the iPad, how the device was programmed, screenshots or messages, or other documentation related to the investigation. My experience communicating with the administration made the situation even worse. A meeting was changed to 8:30 AM without me receiving written notice, an email, phone call, text message, or updated calendar invitation. I was later told that I had verbally confirmed the change, which I disputed. When I attempted to address my concerns in person, I felt dismissed and disrespected. My experience with Principal Jenniffer Aynesworth was particularly disappointing. I felt that instead of having an open conversation with me as a concerned parent, my concerns were not given the attention they deserved. I was also frustrated that I was unable to have the conversation I was seeking with Assistant Principal Cassandra Grace regarding the situation. This was not about a minor disagreement between children. My son was specifically targeted with one of the most offensive racial slurs possible, using school-issued technology, in a school environment where he should have felt safe. As a parent, I expected the school to communicate clearly, provide transparency about what occurred, protect my child, hold those responsible accountable, and treat me with respect when I advocated for him. Based on my experience, I did not feel that standard was met. I hope Alamos Elementary and the district take situations like this seriously and improve how they communicate with parents and respond to incidents involving racial harassment. No parent should have to fight this hard simply to get answers and ensure their child feels safe at school.

Van Avery Prep was my children's home (and mine) for 15 years ( I have 3 children ), I can not…read moreimagine what our lives would look like without them. Van Avery was a lot like our extended family; as a working mother it was very important for me to have my children somewhere where I knew they were cared for and somewhere that understood our needs as a family. My children excelled in High School academically and socially because of the strong base they developed while at Van Avery, they were both challenged and encouraged. They developed confidence in speaking in front of people ( lots of practice) and they develop the skills to communicate effectively, essentially they became equipped to enter High School and take advantage of all it has to offer. My children have all graduated from college now and I do give credit in part to Van Avery for their accomplishments. My children and I built long life friendships with our Van Avery contemporaries and continue to share our lives with them. Enrolling my children at Van Avery Prep was hands down the best decision I made regarding my children's education.

We had some discipline issues and they were handled great. This year has been wonderful, my son is actually excited to go to school. The teachers and staff have been great. They may need a little help answering the phone but I just come in person if it's too important. I figured they are kinda busy with all those kids so let's cut them some slack. Traffic at drop off and pick up is a challenge, some entitled parents don't care about rules but we can't hold that against TMS. My son will make the most of his time here!

Our family has been part of Method Schools since 2018. So much has changed, mostly positive, some…read morenegative. Method excels in offering extracurriculars, sports, events, AP, honors and advanced courses. They have Dehesa Method Sports Academy which is tailored towards athletes in San Diego county and they recently started The Academy at Method which is a dual enrollment program designed to offer students an early start in advancing their education by taking college courses while in high school. Method has a lot of potential to be a Blue Ribbon school or even a California Distinguished School. It is a K-12 charter school registered in the Acton-Agua Dulce Unified with the California Department of Education. The school primarily offers virtual instruction. Overall my daughter has mixed feelings about her education at Method. As a parent, I appreciate the school's variety of course offerings. I went to a very good high school in OC and I wanted the same for my daughter. If you're considering Method for your child, Method has a yearbook, offers prom, has several yearly events for K-8 and the 9-12 events are mainly led by the high school ASB. As of this review, to my knowledge, Method offers National Honor Society, Hope Squad, Yearbook, and several others high school led clubs. There are some problems that I hope Method improves on. Firstly, lack of transparency. Since Method is primarily online, there should be no question for students or parents on who is leading the school. At an in-person school, most students and parents know who the principal or vice principal is. Most of our time at Method, we didn't know who the principal was. They sometimes call that person the Head of Schools, but you don't know if it's for K-12 or 9-12. Either way, it adds to confusion and distracts from learning. Unfortunately, Method is extremely biased and has double standards. I've experienced this many times, so it's not an isolated issue. Method's administration and teachers don't always respond to an email. Conflict is a part of life and not a fun part; however, when issues need to be addressed, communication is important. Method gets an F in this area. They do not know how to deal with conflict, whether it is with students or parents. Regarding the double standards, the teachers and staff send out emails stating that their meetings are 'mandatory', but it is not fairly applied to all students. Whenever we're told a meeting is mandatory, it's pretty harsh language, 'required' would be more appropriate but nonetheless we attend the meeting. Other students that don't attend are still allowed to participate in the event even if they didn't attend the 'mandatory' meeting which isn't fair. That means the meeting wasn't mandatory after all. My daughter took a college class her junior year but was not given a weighted grade for that class.College classes are more challenging than highschool classes. Regarding AP testing. As of this review, Method does not offer in-person proctoring for their offered AP tests. We are so glad they offer AP tests. It really benefits students so I strongly advocate for it. Unfortunately, Method doesn't really understand how the AP process works. We were told the school would pay the AP testing fee, and we were ecstatic. However, that excitement was short-lived as we realized Method was only supposed to provide us with the College Board AP code, if they would be administering the test. This created a lot of confusion. Since they don't administer the test we had to find a local school with a seat available, and pay $90+ out of pocket for the test, removing the AP code Method gave us. I wish Method had an honor roll system. My daughter worked very hard in high school and achieved 4.0 a couple of semesters and over 3.5 in several other semesters, but didn't receive acknowledgment. She also achieved high scores on the CAASPP test in Science, Math, and English but received no acknowledgment. I've noticed the staff seems intent on doing everything alone without incorporating parents or students. I'm sure they're overwhelmed by doing that. They often speak to parents as if we don't know or understand anything, and they treat us all like we're children. We have valuable contributions. It's frustrating not being heard. I wish I could add more, but this unabridged version is already quite long. I will say the staff and administration is nice and well meaning but they way they do things is extremely frustrating and sometimes backwards. Even the transcript request method is frustrating. They used to include the entire K-12 transcript, and it was like pulling teeth just requesting high school years for the transcript. It shouldn't be like this, especially when it should be expected that colleges only want to see 9-12 grades, not elementary or middle school grades. There's no perfect school. I'm just sharing some of what we've experienced. The flexibility is what kept us there for so long.

All 4 of my children went to Red Hawk Elementary and I absolutely LOVE it! The school is small…read moreenough to where you feel like you're part of a family. The teachers are compassionate and engaging. They teach students independence and self advocacy, which in turn prepares them for the next stages in their education. There are tons of activities that incorporate families, such as lunch with a loved one, fall festival, and literacy and STEM nights. During all of our years at Red Hawk, our favorite principal by far has been Taylor Lundin. She is always present, greeting students in the morning and saying goodbye in the afternoons. She cares deeply about student and parent safety. She strives to ensure that all students have access to a top notch education, which is very important to my family! I have also watched as Mrs. Lundin has guided her intervention administrators into assistant principals, creating more opportunities for those individuals to grow! It's truly amazing to see. We moved to Temecula for its wonderful schools, and Red Hawk is no exception! I highly recommend becoming a Hero at Red Hawk Elementary!

Seeing my child grow academically and spiritually for the last four years has been very rewarding, to say the least. As a Teacher myself, I can confidently leave my child with a peace of mind. Knowing my child is taken care of and is receiving the personalized education needed to be successful is very valuable to us. Another reason why I recommend this place is because of the student to teacher ratio. This is part of the reason why our children are successful. Lastly, I want to commend the teachers and specially the Principal/Teacher here at Grace. She goes above and beyond for our students and the ministry alone at Grace Christian School; her mission and vision are truly admirable. And her leadership is remarkable.
