The bottom of the barrel that happened was when I ordered something to be delivered and the person that delivered it told me he just wanted to give me a heads up that the app takes 20% of his tip, which is completely false. And it's disgusting that he even tried to play that card. If you think that people are gonna tip you 40% so you can allegedly get a 20% tip, you should probably move onto another job.

The last time I went here, I deplored the staff member's borderline rudeness. I made the mistake of…read morereturning: it was convenient and I thought I had simply encountered someone having a bad day. Wrong: I don't think it's an ESL problem, but the counter person barely made eye contact and spoke maybe a half-dozen words to me before, during, and after my purchase. I know a liquor store is not a barn dance or a singles bar, and bottled liquor sells itself, but would a little "Can I help you?" or "WIll there be anything else?" or even (gasp) "Have a nice day!" be so difficult? I smile at people and thank them, so I am not about to say the problem is mine. Maybe find another profession where customer service is not needed?

My dad has been coming here for over 15 years, he's a regular, they know him well. Young's offers a great selection of international wines and liquors. It's big so there's a lot of diversity and SO MANY OPTIONS! The employees are always friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable as well. The best perk of coming to Young's, aside from the rewards card, is every Saturday they have a wine tasting. Some weeks it's a smaller selection of wines and vendors, others it's much bigger and every so often they throw in some cheese and crackers to nosh on while you sip! Great neighborhood spot!

You walk into Young's, and the air smells like oak, expensive dust, and the quiet desperation of suburban commuters trying to buy an escape before the 6:15 train pulls out. Row after row of bottles. California, France, Italy, all neatly lined up under soft green tags, little glass soldiers waiting to march off to somebody's slow death on a Tuesday night. Up front, they've got premixed Margaritas sitting on the polished counter right next to a price tag for two hundred dollar Napa Cabernet. That's the joke of it. A man can come in here with twenty bucks looking to drown the afternoon away on tot gut Old Irish Rose and Thunderbird, or he can drop a week's pay on a label with a fancy crest, and in the end, the hangover feels exactly the same. The floors are clean wood, the aisles are wide enough to stumble through without knocking over the Bordeaux, and the glass glints off the ceiling like cheap diamonds. It's too neat, too orderly for the kind of drinking that gets you through a soon to be fall into winter of 2026, but the booze is real, the selection is deep enough to sink a ship, and nobody asks you "hows the family or where are you going tonight" when you hand over the cash. It's a good joint. Grab your bottle, pay the man, and get out into the dark before the illusion wears off.
