Many of us have covid19…read morestories, but mine involved the changing of my daughter's big wedding in Dallas to a small ceremony in San Angelo where her fiance was stationed...etc. etc etc and ultimately we found ourselves without a photographer 2 days before the wedding. To avoid a long story, I'll give the highlights. Kurt Hoffmaster was the first to reach out to me in a very large group of photographers I had contacted with my dilemma. He gave us a fantastic rate knowing we had already paid another photographer a large sum to cover the event. He put me at ease and was attentive to all the things we needed in a photographer. He even set up a video camera to record the vows. The best part...he created the most beautiful photos and captured every important moment of the day for us. In addition, he got every photo and the video to us in less than 48 hours so we could share the day with all our friends and family that did not get to be there. I have to give two starts for a few reasons. So let me start with the positives...well Carl is…read moresuper nice, was going to give us a military discount, work at an amazing rate, and booked pretty good time in advance. If it wasn't for him being a veteran and overall a seemingly nice person, it would be one star. We did not get to experience his photography as he decided to book a cruise that leaves the day of my wedding. He told me he was marking his calendar and everything was apparently set in stone to have him do my wedding. So it gets to two months before my event and I'm checking in with all of my vendors to make sure everything is good to go and all information is up to date, when I get the heartbreaking email from Carl. Pictures are the one thing that I get to take away from my day other than my husband and the memories. He did recommend a replacement photographer that has not gotten back to me, but if you're going to book a cruise on my wedding day that you're supposed to be at...it would've been nice to get a phone call or email whenever he decided to book it. If it's in your calendar and you've made the commitment already...it's just really unprofessional and (I cannot stress this enough) heartbreaking to leave the bride with less than two months to secure a new photographer who is decent.
