CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TRASH. Despite other reviews if this location, I've never had a bad haircut here. My issue came when I clipped a coupon from Instagram for a discounted haircut. When I went to pay they wouldn't accept the coupon because in tiny print it said was only for the Bay Area- weird since I live in Sacramento (who's driving to the Bay for a discounted haircut?). The salon refused to accept the coupon and offered no other discount. I reached out to Great Clips customer service and received an automated response explaining that each location is independent and I should've checked the fine print prior to booking my appointment. TERRIBLE answer to a paying Great Clips devotee, but fair enough. At the end of the day someone (at the local or corporate level) should've offered a little something in the name of customer service. GREAT CLIPS GETS A BIG FAT ZERO FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Since Great Clips won't make it right they won't receive another dollar from me. read more

I'm so disappointed in my son's haircut. I didn't realize how terrible it actually was until I had already left. My son is 3 years old and very well behaved and still for haircuts so it blows my mind why stylists always seem to cut corners. $19 for a kids haircut is bad enough, but I wish I had skipped the nice tip I gave after I realized he had cut my son's ear. My son flinched at one point (which I thought was odd considering how still he always is) and I didn't realize until I had left that the guy cut his ear and didn't even say anything. He just told my son to hold his head still afterwards and told me the vibration of the clippers probably scared him. I wouldn't have held still either. On top of that, the cut is choppy and uneven all over, the hair over the ear he didn't cut he just left long as hell. You can even tell there are tons of hairs he left long all over the whole head too. Just skip this place. Jonathan was responsible for this terrible job. read more

Thi was great, just as the business name suggests. I came in without an appointment and he gave me a time for 25 minutes later - which gave me just enuf time for a quick trip to CVS and Dollar Tree down the street. I brought with me a photo and gave him the instructions I'd been using with my Robocut/Flowbee (George Clooney also!) for many years. Thi did the cut perfectly. I especially appreciate that, unlike most other stylists, he didn't force small talk. We did have a good conversation that I initiated though. This isn't the first or even second bad hair cut from this location, but it's the last. Bad lining up of the undercut, choppy fade, and really uneven pixie. Even after having my mom and husband try to fix stuff, we just found more wrong. I had three photos of the same hair cut on a single model for reference. She glanced at them and never looked again. She parted my hair, saying it was just the line of the undercut, but then proceeded to do the cut as though I'd be parting my hair. The photos didn't show a part! I went in for just a simple trim to get rid of split ends and left with a HAIRCUT. I was looking to cut 2 inches off 3 at the most but she claimed I needed 4 inches off and proceeded to cut. As well as giving me SHORT layers. To top that off it was so uneven! Especially in the front, very noticeable that my left side is longer than my right. I left Great Clips with short and uneven hair. Fantastically hit/miss! I wouldn't risk it. I've gotten a few good haircuts here, but also a few horrid ones. I'm sure the employees here are only licensed to the lowest degree or something. Half the time I've come in and it seemed like the haircutter didn't know what she was doing at all. I supposed it's my fault partially for giving this location so many chances, but twice I've even had to go to another location and get the haircut redone because I was so embarrassed to be seen. I panic so much when the "how does it look" comes and just have to say it looks fine even if I'm completely dead on the inside! Two stars because of the few good haircuts I've had here (from Julie I think...she really is actually good at cutting hair), but minus three because of all the bad times. I've switched permanently to the location at fulton and marconi and I'd recommend that you all do too! read more

I would absolutely ZERO star this terrible experience. I went in for a haircut and immediately got met with terrible attitude. I have a MULLET, and mentioned I want to keep it a mullet and to 5 the sides and maybe clean the back. After I said just a little clean on the back, HE RUINED MY MULLET. I asked to cut a little, a little a half inch max of the back, and when I noticed it was more he said "don't worry you need a college experience to do this." What an attitude for such an easy haircut. 5 on the sides and short trim on the back. The customer service was disgraceful and should be fired just in the attitude alone. Haircut was terrible as can not listen to words alone. Mullet is not a hard haircut, but when the barber acts like they are a know it all and does this poor of a job? GIVE HIM THE BOOT! Great place overall. I've had my haircut here for a year. My recommendation is to stay away from Jennie. She completely messed my haircut up. Your haircut preferences are saved in their database, but I think she got me confused with another customer and it was too late to stop. The beginning of the haircut (sides and back of the head) started normally. But when it came to the top, she made one sweeping motion and nothing could change the end product after that. read more

I love this place: the location, the cleanliness, and the great service. It was my first time and Pamela definitely exceeded my expectations. For a $13-$15 haircut, I was expecting a regular cut, but came out with a look i love. Pamela was very attentive and reaffirmed my decision to stick with the fringed bangs look simply because of how well she cut it. I had to come in a few days later for a bang trim. Didnt realize how much longer they were once straightened. Anywho, Roxy helped me and she too was attentive. I love how she took her time trimming my bangs to make them look just right. She even showed me how to train my bangs to keep them looking neat. The trim was no charge, but because of great service, I tipped. I love it there and they've earned a loyal customer. When it comes to haircuts, I am really particular when it comes to getting haircuts from places like great clips. I have a haircut stylist in Davis that I have been going to for the past 5 years and even after moving back to Sac, I still go there. This past week I was in a hurry. I got off work, and didn't want to fight rush hour traffic to get a haircut in Davis, and I needed to look clean for an interview. So I stopped by Great Clips and I was pleasantly surprised. I gave the stylist general guidelines to keep things simple, like a number two on time, and just trim the top and she nailed it. It was blended perfectly and did a few small things to work with my usual hair style. I was a little disappointed because they put up a 7.99 sale sign even though their sale didn't start till a day later. Regardless, it was worth 13 bucks. read more

Waited over two hours for my time slot as per the website. Received a text 15 minutes prior to my appointment. Get there within 5 minutes and they tell me that they are closed. The system knew that I checked in with my phone number and name. There was no courtesy call to indicate to me that they were closing and there was no need to come in. They would not entertain anything I had to say with regarding to the matter.
