You're going to need to make an appointment; don't drop in. Go ahead, make your appointment now…read more I'll wait. My son and I needed haircuts. We were QUITE shaggy. He's three and I'm... Considerably older than that. I'm not used to going to a salon; I usually take my boy to an athletic barber shop chain in the area. Full disclosure, they're much cheaper than The Standard but your mom was right: you get what you pay for. I showed up very early for my appointment and the person ahead of me had cancelled, so Neil sat me right away (yeah, half an hour early). He asked me for direction, and I let him know that I typically get quarterly haircuts and I'd like about this length in front and off my neck and ears. That's all he needed; I don't think he asked me a single question about "want me to trim your brows?" or anything like that. It's awkward to have that question stated. Like what would I say anyway? "Nah. I like really bushy brows; I'm going for the Eugene Levy look." Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that he needed very little direction and ended up giving me EXACTLY what I wanted. If I'd given him more direction, I would have been driving him further away from what I really want. I don't know that I've had a haircut this good this DECADE. No fluff. Neil is laid back, calm, positive, and friendly. So he made me happy. Now for the part where he does a task much more difficult: He makes my wife happy by making my son look good. My son doesn't approach a haircut easily. Though he really wanted a haircut, the prospect of actually sitting in a chair while getting it cut made him nervous. Neil was really good with him (Neil's a dad, so yeah; he's good with kids). He went slowly around the places where my son sank in the chair because it tickled; and I can't tell where he made a single erroneous snip. I told him to give my son the same cut he gave me, and I think he did that perfectly. So does my wife. Apart from how spectacular Neil was, I suppose it's also noteworthy that the environment is clean, upscale, and hip. Overall, I think I'll be trusting Neil with the male heads in my family for the foreseeable future. I was bracing myself for a much heftier tab than it was (I don't think it was even $10 more than the other place for the two of us), I got a flawless haircut for two heads, and my purchase helped a local entrepreneur instead of a franchise.

I have very thick curly hair that was a mess! Not only was she able to get me in on extremely short notice, but she transformed my hair and gave it a style, not just the dreaded triangle shape most curlies are familiar with. If you have textured hair or are just looking for a new stylist, I highly recommend Ashley. She is professional, friendly, and extremely talented.

Of course i checked into Yelp to see what was going on for good bathers in the area (duh!). I stumbled upon this little gem. Juan the owner greeted me at the door and I told him what I wanted done. He asked how I had learned about his shop and I told him Yelp. He was a bit surprised at this. I told him Yelp is where it's at man! Anyway my son jumped in the seat & had his "Cristiano Ronaldo" haircut first (I had a pic ready for him to see) & I got a fade/line up. He works well with kids & adults alike. I will say he's got that old school flair the way he goes about with his profession. I was really digging his overcoat with the old school leather breastplate. You just don't see that anymore...anywhere. Anyway after I had my cut, I noticed that my sons' cut wasn't quite what I wanted and he had him hop back in the chair took another look at the photo and absolutely got it right. "Better fix it here than to go somewhere else & lose business". Well said bro. If you want that classic shave, he's got the straight edge razors just for you. If you're a man...I would def recommend this guy for your next hair cut. Get your swag on, Juan is a god dude and will take care of you. MANLINESS!

She listened to everything I said. I've been this color for years, so I already know what works and what doesn't. Most stylists don't care. They just want to finish fast. Alli took her time and gave me this flawless custom color. She has great energy too! Oftentimes, I'll feel zapped after getting my hair done. Not here! I actually felt energized and excited! Another thing that helped was that she was excited to do my hair. She didn't come at it with a defeated "maybe I can do it" attitude. That tells me that she's a real artist who loves her work. It shows! The salon has a private parking lot, so you don't have to worry about street parking. Half of it is shaded by beautiful trees too. I'm thrilled with my results and already scheduled my next appointment.
