I made several comments that I wanted it much shorter and that she could maybe take a razor and take out some of the bulk, but all she did was gaslight me, make excuses, telling me my hair already has a lot of layers. I was never offered the complimentary hand/ arm massage which was a disappointment, and I walked out with the same bad cut I came in with. After much thought, I decided to call to request either a refund or a redo with a different stylist. I'm glad I called because they were able to match me with a master stylist a couple days later who gave me the exact cut I wanted. Holly was so wonderful, and she really listened to what I wanted. I understand sports clips is a men's hair salon, but surely they could handle a trim for women's hair I feel like that's the bare minimum. I've also went there on multiple other occasions and they've done an excellent job. January 28, 2026 boy did I get the service to remember! I come in the salon is empty. It's just me and the stylist. He was a short black gentleman. I think his name is William I can't quite remember. I'll ask for was a trim in a wash. He looks really nervous from the beginning mind you which made me nervous, but I trusted that he knew what he was doing. So he begins the service by putting me in the chair which is not exactly normal because usually when I ask for a trim to wash, they usually take me back to the wash bowl and wash my hair first so that already felt off. But I sit down in the chair and he asked me how many inches I want cut off and I just said 1 to 2 is fine. He proceeds to make like a few cuts and then sends me back to the wash bowl. as I'm walking I only see like three pieces of hair on the floor. I sit down at the wash bowl and dude literally just played in my hair for 15 minutes. When I go to get my hair washed, I want my hair to feel lathered I want to feel clean, I want a proper scrubbing. I have a lot of hair and it takes me at least an hour and a half in the shower to do my whole head to completion. it's a lot of work so it would have somebody else do it every now and then it's a nice treat for myself. That's the whole reason why I'm here and why I'm paying them to do this. And I did not receive that quality service. As I'm sitting at the bowl and I have a towel on my face I hear a female come from out of the back room and start talking to the gentleman to which then I can't help but sit there and wonder, if he's that uncomfortable with doing a woman's hair why didn't he just refer me to the female, who would have a better understanding of women's hair? Once he's done washing my hair, he hand me a towel and says "you can dry off your hair now." So I walked back to the chair with my hair dripping all over me making my clothes wet and then he goes would you like it dried? To which I responded "yes" because whenever I get my hair washed, I always want it dried. Also mind you it was nearly 0° outside and snowing so going outside with a head of wet hair would not be a great idea. So he begins to dry my hair. THIS PART OF THE SERVICE WAS THE FINAL RED FLAG FOR ME! He proceeds to grab a bunch of my hair and just tries to dry it in his hand. He doesn't grab a hairbrush. He doesn't try to separate it or try to come through my hair with his hands. He just grabs a chunk of hair I just hold it in his hand. I just put the blow dryer on it and he does this for about a minute or two and then he shuts off the blow dryer turns to me and says. "Ya sorry I don't know how to do womens hair like I'm not really too sure what to do here." HE THEN PROCEEDS TO HAND ME THE BLOW DRYER AND PUTS IT IN MY HANDS!!! and then he says "here. Here's a blow dryer if you wanna try drying it yourself." ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! I had no words. Because I couldn't fully process what just happened. I'd then proceeded to sit there and try to comb through my hair with my fingers and try to dry my hair. I did this for about a minute until I realized why am I paying someone for me to blow dry my own hair and he didn't even hand me a brush to dry my own hair either I'm just sitting there looking stupid. So then I proceeded to get up and say "you know what I think I'm done here" I paid and then I left. The level of professionalism that this place holds is absolutely insane. Like I understand not feeling confident with something you might not have a lot of experience with, but how you handle it matters. He could've very easily referred me to the female in the salon so many other things could've happened that would've made this not as embarrassing. I know personally at my job if you don't understand something or something confuses you it's OK to say that you don't know, but you can't just wash your hands of the customer and still expect to get paid. At my job we informed the customer that we do not have set information that they are looking for however, we will refer them to someone who may have more information or details into what the customer is looking for and then once you find that person you then learn from that person how you can help any customer in the future. Leaving the current customer satisfied, and you just learned something new to help any other future customers. Nonetheless, I left the salon with an entirely wet head of hair in the freezing cold. And I went home to completely redo my hair and wash it myself which of course takes up to an hour and a half as per usual. But this service really took the cake COMPLETE MESS!!! I will not be coming back here again!!!
