I saw some Korean writing outside of this salon so I thought they must be decent enough to handle asian hair. As soon as I walked in I wanted to walk right out. I didn't get the impression that it was an asian salon at all. The clientele consisted of old white women getting their hair permed. I felt like walking out would be rude though so I just sucked it up and had them cut my bangs. The lady who cut them was nice enough. She listened to me when I said I just wanted a blunt cut and nothing feathery or fancy. When my face was covered with tiny bits of cut hair, she decided she was going to rid of them by BLOWING ON MY FACE. At first I was just startled because a normal hair stylist would just use a blow dryer because it's more efficient. However my startledness quickly turned into gross outtedness when she wouldn't stop blowing on my face! What the hell?? Eventually it occurred to her to just use a blow dryer. The total for my no frills bang trim? Twelve freaking dollars! My salon only charges $5 for a bang trim and they are also 10 times more skilled. When I tried to hand the lady my credit card, she said she didn't accept cards. This puzzled me because there were two fricken credit card machines right next to her at the front desk. I had to haul ass to an atm to pay her. She didn't even have change for a twenty and was going around the hair salon looking for ones from other hairdressers. Totally sketchy. I suspect she was trying to avoid taxes in order to pocket all of the money for herself. Not coming back EVER!

After the barber shop downtown closed, I had a hard time getting my hair cut anywhere nearby. Went to Great Clips in Dublin, where one of the staff gave me the number for this place. The owner has been cutting hair for years, and has set up this nice little shop across the street from the Cheese House. Keep your eyes peeled; it sits in a little cluster of buildings. There is a sign out front. My hair isn't exactly complicated, and she made it look nice (nice enough for Sweetie, and who else do I have to please?) Trimmed my beard, too, far better than I can. Price was very reasonable, the owner is friendly, and the building is clean. It ain't exactly the old neighborhood barber shop, but those places are disappearing. I'll take skillful, cheap haircuts wherever I can get 'em...

The last few visits to Great Clips have been fine! Not over the top life changing but fine and I liked the way my haircut looked! Until yesterday I had the worst experience ever in Great Clips and I hope none of you have to go through this experience as I did! Beware! I entered the salon on a busy Friday afternoon and was immediately taken care of by a person who was supposed to be a stylist but was not! I appreciate that he took care of me right away but when I explained what I wanted done he rolled his eyes and shook his head as if to say he couldn't believe it! And didn't agree! I was stunned to silence and sat there dumb founded! I explained again he nodded No again! And then did nothing with my hair! I asked for layers on top he said you have layers. I said I don't have layers I would like layers. You have layers. I don't have layers I want them! He combed my hair and sent me away! I did not get his name but he is an older man with glasses by the back wall thin and stoic. Cold and unpleasant! Please beware! I don't know maybe he can't cut hair?! Which is fine but just let me know and I'll find something else! He was really unpleasant and I won't be back to Great Clips Ever Again! Ever! He trimmed my hair in back with the clippers and sent me away! Ok! See ya! Never Again I am going back Ever!
