When my wife arrived for her appointment, Gema made a recommendation on how my wife should do her hair and after my wife gave her approval, Gema went to work. Gema, thanks for helping to make my wife's birthday special. She will definitely be returning!

I really hate having to write a negative review, especially because I've been coming to this salon…read morefor about five visits and have generally had a great experience. Julia has done my hair at least four times before, so I was honestly shocked and extremely disappointed by how I was treated today. She repeatedly described my hair as "nappy," extremely curly, and such a mess that she couldn't possibly work with it. Her words, tone, and facial expressions made me feel as though there was something wrong or disgusting about my hair. I have NEVER in my life been made to feel like my natural hair texture was a problem, and I certainly didn't expect it from someone who has successfully done my hair several times before. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my hair. Yes, it's curly. That doesn't make it "nappy," unmanageable, or a mess. I've had keratin treatments many times, including just two weeks ago on a cruise, where the stylist complimented me on how beautiful and healthy my hair was. Thankfully, I've also had Genesis at this salon, and she is absolutely lovely. She has always treated me and my hair with kindness and professionalism, and I will happily continue booking with her. Julia, however, may want to reconsider how she speaks to clients about their hair. No customer should leave a salon feeling embarrassed or insulted because of their natural hair texture. I'm extremely disappointed and, quite frankly, pissed off by the way I was treated today.

It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the park with my two boys I usually go to the Haircut Place next to El Super so I haven't had the need to venture to other locations, but being the day is delightful I find this place within a few minutes walking distance. Place has one client getting there hair done. Get a real nice stare top to bottom from the stylist, i smile ask if they accept card i get a dry "what do you need" I tell her my boys need a haircut, "you need an appointment " I asked okay can I come back a better time or a better day" no you need to call to make appointment" I asked is there a day you do walk ins just to keep in mind, "no you need to call". I just felt judged for the length of my boys hair. My boys sit perfectly still for a haircut they know the drill. I asked if they took card because if they didn't I would just hit up the ATM real quick. It's a three day weekend and I felt no real need to use make up. Maybe if your decked out they'll treat you better

And yes, we wore masks; just pulled them down for a quick pic :) Upon Josie's recommendation, I tried the Brazilian blowout. I had tried the BB before at a different salon to calm my frizzy and dry hair no avail. But I thought, why not give it a go? I kid you not, my hair has always been frizzy, dry, and sensitive to humidity. I had wasted my money on different "5 star" products and treatments that didn't work. It was frustrating. My hair has earned the nickname "lion mane" because of how thick and dry it is. But this treatment completely transformed my look! Josie treated my hair with great care and attention to detail. She was very gentle and she wasn't in a rush to get it done. It really shows in the end product. My hair had never been this shiny and frizz free. And I have to mention her top-notch, cheerful service! Many people during this pandemic have become so grumpy and mean, but Josie was very sweet, friendly, and accommodating it was a heartwarming experience! Thank you Josie and Evolve salon! Definitely coming back soon!

The staff is Asian mixed - Vietnamese, Chinese, Filipino. Don't expect a fancy hair salon either. It is what you want to call ghetto but don't let that get to you. The staff is nice (sometimes they feed you with their bread, crackers, cookies, whatever snacks they have lol), and are very well talented with hair. Aida did my daughther's first haircut and Tony is great with cut and color. Yes they do take awhile because they are not up to par with modern day hair equipment, but if you're willing to wait, and watch TFC during your whole appointment, then you should be good. Prices are cheap, quality of products last, and the techniques the staff uses is good.
