But, they were courteous and put me in the waiting room. Lolita was my stylist and she listened to what I wanted, really studied the photos I had and did a tremendous job on cutting my hair in the long layers I wanted!! I was elated with the results!! Worst hair cut ever, DO NOT GO TO JEFFERY at great clips Fountain Hills. I went in for a trim, I told Jeffery NOT to take off more than 1/2 to 3/4" and the first thing he did was put a barber shop clip head on the clippers and took a swipe front front to back over my left ear and I was stunned to see over 2"s of hair fall to my lap and he proceeded to take another swipe back to front and took even more. I ended up with a buzz cut on the left side and when I ask him about it, he promptly took off my apron and handed me off to another stylist who tried her best to even it out. Bonny did a great job with what little hair I had left and said it was a "communication error", yes, he did not listen. Not sure if he is hard of hearing or just doesn't know to cut hair. read more

I visited in April 2025. I walked in and this one stylist was finishing up while others were cutting. She told the gal who was at the register she would take me before she left. I could tell the other stylists and the one at the register didn't care for her as they all rolled their eyes at her. Needless to say, it was the worst haircut I've ever had. She didn't listen to me and said she needed to do what she did. Consistently terribly. Wait lines over 2 hrs. Don't bother "online check-in." It means nothing. I checked in online, waited 84 min, got the notification on my phone that I was 1st in the cue, and when I got here, they had a guy slip of front of me. Still had to wait and it ruined my schedule. Ridiculous. Unacceptable. Not to mention, the quality of haircuts are very poor here anyway. I emphatically do not recommend. Stylists are very rude and dismissive to understandably frustrated patrons. Literal words from the stylist to an upset some woman were: "you can always go somewhere else and pay $50 or cut your own hair." Priceless. read more

I had my hair cut here yesterday and it is the worst haircut I have ever had. I called back today to see if I could go to one of the other locations that might be owned by the same franchisee and get it done properly and I was told no. I was told the owner was John but that's it. I was just passing through and don't live there and was told I could come back there and get it fixed up but that is almost an hour drive for me to go get it done and I don't want the same person redoing it anyway. For 6 years, my entire family always go to Great Clips in Fountain Hills. We always recommend this place to our friends and relatives. Today, I'm extremely disappointed to this lady hairdresser ALLIE (she is wearing a white converse with a messy hair bun). I took my 11 y/o son on 3/11/22 Sunday at 11:30am. She has no compassion, rude and extremely unprofessional. She even traumatized my boy and put him to tears. I gave her a heads up, that my son just wanted to have a little hair trimmed. She is rushing. Non stop rolling her eyes and sighing while my boy is crying quietly in the chair. She's pulling the hair, so careless, pulling down his ear really hard while trimming the side hair, cutting his bangs using a little razor cutter that made my son feels uncomfortable. She don't care at all, probably she hates children. I prefer not to argue. After the service and waiting for our receipt at the counter, she rolled her eyes again coz I'm comforting & wiping my son's tears. So, I asked her, "are you upset with something?" Then she said, "no. I don't care". Exactly! She just doesn't care. I just paid, gave her a tip and we walked away. Because my son is already emotional. I still need to speak with the manager, this is unacceptable. She shouldn't have any cosmetology license to be in this type of service. The barber messed up my hair, leaving many strands too long that stuck out and made it uneven on one side. She even had the audacity to claim that she was perfect and that I would have a hard time finding any flaws with her cutting. When she trimmed off more to even out the long strands I pointed out, she had removed my hair cut gown, getting hair all over my shirt and then blaming me for it, which is complete b.s. The whole time, she kept remarking on how long my hair was, going as far as insulting it by calling it "horse hair." She was without a doubt the most unprofessional barber I've ever had the displeasure of suffering through as I watched my hair ruined snip by snip. They need to change their name. Went to the Great Clips for the first time the other day. I did not make an appointment. It was early in the morning and only one client waiting ahead of me. I was told it would be roughly a 15 minute wait. Turned out to be a little less. Dyanna cut my hair. She was pleasant and cut my hair as I requested. I had a coupon that I found in one of the circulars. So the cut was a bargain. I tipped Dyanna based on the posted full price. She was appreciative and asked me to return next month which I told her I would. This was easy peasy. read more

Tried to do the right thing and got laughed at!!!! Went on-line to sign-in virtually - yes. Wore my face shield - yes. Had my medical note that I'm not able to wear a facial mask - yes. The gal said I had to wear a face mask and started laughing that I had a face shield on. I then left and walked next door to Ace Hardware and purchased a face mask and returned not five minutes later. She had already taken off for lunch and totally blew me off. Greeted as soon as I walked in, as I sat there I felt a very vibrant and alive feel in the shop. I like the people there, they were all very personable and positive. The facility was very clean and organized which tells me they care about quality in everything they do. I got a lady named Carin, she was very nice and really went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable. She established her credibility right off the bat by really taking a look at my hair and identifying the type and different areas that could be difficult to control for the look I wanted so we adjust the cut in those certain areas. We arrived March 10th at 7:25 PM (from Mesa on our way back to Payson) signed in at counter and were addressed by an extremely rude evening manager, who indicated that we were arriving too late to expect service. The next thing she wanted to know was if we came in there often, we said yes we have been coming in there for over 4 years. We shop in the valley then stop there on the way back to Payson and never had anything but a positive experience. She told us it would be 40 minutes or more and if we left to go shop next door at Basha's she would lock us out. Really??? I just had a cut with BIANCA and I love it. I came in on extremely short notice on Sunday evening, not to mention being the last customer of the day, to have a home haircut corrected. Bianca was friendly, very understanding, and did an excellent job with my naturally wavy hair. My short, layered bob looks fantastic. With minutes left before they closed, she was not rushed.
