I like when my husband goes here to get his hair done. He's older and his hair is not as thick but when he gets it done here, his hair cut makes him look younger read more

The team from Great Clips came out to support an event for special needs families for the Elk Grove School District. The team provided free haircuts for any willing student and they were amazing!! Super kind and considerate. They knew how to help make the experience positive for the students many who had autism or other needs that make getting haircuts difficult. If you're looking for a place, I highly recommend this location. I would make an appointment and specify that you would like a stylist that works with special needs individuals. Thank you for supporting our community! read more

We walked in to get my 10 month old son's haircut. I didn't get the stylist name but she was so patient with him. She did an amazing job on my son who was moving frequently. Try giving this place a shot if you have little kids plus they rates are reasonable. read more

I used the "online check in" and was quoted 13 minutes. Since I'm about a 10-15 minute drive away, I got in the car immediately. When I got here they had bypassed my turn completely and taken two walk ins who were not on the wait list. So after driving 12 minutes, I now had a 27 minute wait ahead of me. Why the heck have an online check in if you aren't going to honor it? This is insane. read more

I had a great experience here today. Jessie was my stylist and she was very friendly. She listened to what I wanted and did a great job. She was very fast and made sure I was happy before I left. We had a nice conversation and I will definitely be back to see her. read more

This place is underrated I don't know why it has such low ratings but I've been coming here for quite some time now and they do a great job not that expensive either totally recommend it read more

Been going here for years and never took the time to write a review. Angelica/Jackie/Jessie all do good work and they are not just a chop shop. The take the time to greet, converse, and make you feel like you came to the right place. On top of that they do a great job cutting hair. My kids used to frequent this shop until they moved away but I am still in there every two weeks. Great place to go for a decent price. read more

Jessie is the absolute best. She is so friendly and a great stylist. Jessie is the reason I always return to Great Clips on Waterman in Elk Grove. Always a great experience. read more

Unprofessional! I have taken my boys to this location many times over the last 10 plus years. Today has been by far the worst! It's always a hit or miss depending on the stylist, but Jessie put my son in tears today. She aggressively hacked his hair off and I'm still in shock over how she cut. My son said he was scared because it looked like she was going to just shave his hair off. I ALWAYS leave a decent tip and it's one of the rare times I left nothing. The other lady, Bea, cut my younger son's hair and did a fine job. I don't expect perfection from a place like Great Clips, but I do expect the stylist to at least LISTEN and try to cut as asked, especially when I specifically ask several times. read more

I revived a coupon in the mail from Great Clips Corporate. I go into the waterman location and present the coupon to the lady before starting. Afterwards she goes to ring me up and she try's to scan said coupon and hands it back saying "it won't scan so we can't take it" Coupon wasn't expired Coupon stated any great clips locations No reason not to except the coupon! read more

I got kicked out of this shop by a hairdresser. Her name is Kelly. I had shredded hair on my face and Kelly wouldn't allow me to dry my hair with a hairdryer by myself. I was chased away with wet hair. She was very unfriendly at the beginning of the check in. She did not know how to cut hair and was very arrogant. When I took out the photos to her, she completely ignored the photos and did not listen to my requirements carefully. She said she didn't know what I want. Very poor experience. Kelly roughed me out, and when I left, she chased me out and told me her name was Kelly. It's so scary. read more

worst haircut i have ever gotten. showed the girl how long i wanted my hair, she said " no problem" which was mid ear length. she cut my hair to the top of both ears and ignored everything i said. she would be a failure as a dog groomer, farless a hair stylist. her attitude was i could careless, such unprofessional work. haircut was done by Reina at Elk Grove Florin Road location read more

Do not waste your time here. There is an older Caucasian lady that will mess your hair up beyond belief. Choppy, uneven, unblended. Go to a salon or non franchise barbershop and pay the extra money. If you're in a rush and decide that you want to go ahead and give it a try - you will regret it. read more

So my boyfriend went in Friday get a haircut because we had a big family event to go to Saturday. The lady I'm guessing her name was Jessie, bc that's what it said on the receipt totally screwed up his hair. It's a simple haircut. Shaved around the sides and finger length on top. The clippers must have slipped because you can tell on top that there's a semi hole. So I guess to try to cover it she kept cutting and cutting. The lengths are ALL UNEVEN. It looks horrible. I have no idea what the heck she was doing. When my boyfriend gets his hair cut he usually closes his eyes and relaxes...NEVER HAS HE HAD TO WATCH THE HAIRSTYLIST. With A TON of gel and work we made his hair look presentable. Never ever will we be going back there. Worst experience ever. I don't recommend this location. read more

Absolutely awful. My husband and 2 boys all got their haircuts here this morning. All of their hair is uneven and extremely choppy, 3 haircuts were done in less that 20 minutes.... would never recommend or return. read more

I regret coming here every time, and yet I've now given them 4 shots. Today I went in for side bangs and a trim. Now, I have down to my butt length hair. I know it's not the easiest, but I got a taper, not side bangs, and the back is so slanted it's ridiculous. And when I tried to explain it to her all she kept telling me was "when I take my comb like this (combs it to the end and pulls it down straight) it's straight". Ok, but I'm not walking around with a comb in my hair pulling it down.. lol.. She wouldn't listen to me when I tried to explain what I was seeing. I ended up paying and walking out. read more

Jessie Liang (Hair Stylist) has cut my Hair over a Half-Dozen Times & has done a Tremendous Stylistic job with Professionalism each and every single time; also, the entire Staff is very Friendly. Once my Haircut is finished, Jessie than washes it, next she proceeds to always ask politely out of courtesy to ask if I will like to utilize any hair products that I may I want to use at home in which there is a vast variety of products to choose from in that store to fit your personal needs. There were times after my Haircut Great Clips were giving out Discount-Coupons for being a valued returning customer. Upon check-out at the counter their are free ticket that they are giving out away free to customers if you like to pick-up to attend local entertainment events which are great perks. Essentially, this Hair Salon I Rate 5-Star with a (AAA+ Rating) and is Highly well Managed, thank you Great Clips at Waterman in Elk Grove. (2022). Jessie Liang is the Best =) read more

This Great Clips gets 5 stars for a quick, hardly ever wait time and the best Great Clips in the Sac area!! We drive all the way from Sacramento just to get our cuts here. However, we do this only because we have followed around their manager wherever she has moved within the Great Clips locations. My husband came across this location's manager, Corryn, when she worked at the East Sac Great Clips on Folsom Blvd. over 3 years ago. My husband was always very weary of hair salon chains (i.e. Supercuts and Great Clips). For the longest time (I'm talking several years) he never went in to a shop to get his hair cut. He always had to cut his own hair, leaving me to finish off the edges with a hand razor!!!! I'm so surprised he allowed me to do this for so long because let me tell you, I will NEVER be a hairstylist in this lifetime or any subsequent lifetimes for that matter! But back on track....finally, he gave in and allowed someone to cut his hair. THANKFULLY, he came across Corryn! So here's why it's especially awesome to get your cut here, specifically by Corryn. Corryn takes special care in listening to what you want, and she achieves it! My husband asks for a specific fade, using 3 different numbers. Corryn has achieved what he wants and has now remembered his specifics for every time he comes! We started taking our 2 year old daughter to get her bangs trimmed with Corryn recently. Corryn is extremely gentle and over the top friendly and cheerful, a pleasant personality especially for youngsters who might be apprehensive to getting their hair cut. She does a great job with shaping our daughters' bangs to fit the shape of her head and face and also follows the natural flow of her hair. Whenever we go, we hardly ever have to wait in line. And with Great Clips' neato phone app, you can actually check in while you're on your way! Today while driving there, we checked in ahead of time even though it said it was a 0 minute wait time! We didn't want to take the chance and have to wait even ONE minute!!! There was only other lady working there at the time and she did a fade in another man who checked in after. Web he was done, his cut looked pretty good so it appears they're pretty competent. The only thing is nice never seen them do a full women's cut yet. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend this place. I understand you may not want to drive far to get here if its your first trial. But forbid, it's definitely worth the 30 minute drive from our home bin Sacramento!!!! read more

I just got my second hair cut from Dana H at the Dyer location. She is so good! I have been looking for literally years for someone to listen to what I am saying as to what I want in a haircut and finally someone listened! Dana H, You are stuck with me! I am now and forever will be a customer for life. Great job and thank you for making my hair look like I have wanted it to for so very long. read more

I came here last week Friday to get my ends trimmed. There was no wait but the normal lady who trims my hair wasn't there.. anyways, I asked for half an inch and was told an inch would be best. I agreed and she proceeds to cut my hair.. AND THEN starts A-line cutting inches off creating choppy layers (which I did not ask for).. I didn't realize how bad the cut was until I got home.. Choppy layers and a good 2-3 inches gone.. I wanted to cry!! I have tried managing with this horrible cut but can't even wear my hair natural anymore (curly).. Definitely would not recommend coming here read more

I went in to get a hair cut today and fortunately Christine was working and able to do my hair. Im so glad I didnt get stuck with the much older stylist who is so self absorbed its nauseating , she is more concerned with what other stylists are talking about with their customers, how unprofessional. I really appreciate Christine and her great sense of humor, which tends to make the experience so much more enjoyable. If im not speaking to you directly then you should mind your own business. Sincerely, Casey D. read more

If there was an option to give this place zero stars, that would be my rating. I went in for simple curtain bangs and the R and L sides turned out noticeably uneven. The woman who cut my hair seemed to pay little attention to detail and seemed like she was trying to get the job done as fast as possible, despite there being no one waiting. Please don't come here. Came here because it was cheaper and I couldn't regret it more. Definitely spending the extra money next time at a different place. I was better off cutting my bangs myself. read more

Check in is meaningless, they literally don't have any regard for time of one. Very unfriendly and had to return to get recut. I don't recommend this location. read more

We go to the new Great Clips next to Costco on Elk Grove Blvd. I've had 2 haircuts and both were great, but this last one today was exceptional. Tamara takes more time and does a better job. My cut is basic, but my mop of medium-fine hair can be a little difficult because it slides around. She "got it", and took her time. She's my go-to stylist now!! read more

Super friendly employees, but when I went in to trim off the damage from my hair, I walked out with about 95% of the damage still there. I would've said something there but I didn't notice it until I washed off the smoothing serum the stylist put in my hair. I literally feel like nothing was done to my hair and I'm out $20 (including tip) with nothing to show for it. This is why I hadn't gone back to a Great Clips in years and I'm definitely not going back again. read more

Well...although the children cuts turned out cute the stylists needed a ton of direction from me. Which is a good thing versus messing up their cute looks. It is expensive for just a cut especially for kids, no products were used or even blow drying for the damp hair. Maybe I'm being picky about the quality and services. Just feel that 30 for two kids is pricey. read more

We will never go back. On Saturday we went in for my husband to get a haircut just before leaving for vacation. The reason we went there was the big sign on the door that said "$7.99 GREAT HAIRCUT SALE GOING ON NOW". After his haircut, the lady charged him $14.00. He paid with a debit card. I got up and said "no, your sign says ...". She said "oh, that was last week." My husband didn't want a scene so we left but will never go there again. she should have honored the posted price. read more

Today I got my first really short haircut! I wanted the famous pixie cut. I was very nervous. The hairstylist, Karen, was great at easing me in slowly for the cut.I was so happy she listened to me about what I wanted for my look and did everything I asked. The atmosphere at this store is very nice and friendly! My experience was terrific and I would go back for sure.I can tell everyone there is very happy and are under a great manager! On social media I got lots of compliments on my new look!!!! One was even"Chic". I was so happy. I never get that kind of compliment on my hair.By the way I had tried for awhile to get my regular stylist I go to from a different salon to do this cut on me and she would always talk me out of it! I'm so glad I came here .These girls know what they are doing and are current on the looks for today! read more

Usually not much of a wait. Always very friendly. Turnover seems low.Same people their for years.

This place is okay. Doesn't do the best haircut. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want layers on your hair.

I went here last Sunday after lunch to get a haircut. I usually go here because of convenience from where I live and like most of the times that I have been here, there was little to no wait at all. Most of the time I'm very particular with the haircut I get, and my stylist Meagan was so great as she listened to what I exactly wanted and asked questions to clarify. She was very detailed with the way she cut my hair and took the time to make sure it was perfect. I'd definitely come back and ask for her when I get my haircut again. read more
