The new owner is all about money. The guy doesn't care about the employees. They expect a 15 minute haircut no matter what. Do you want your hair done in 15 minutes? Think about it before you answer. Someone rushing you through your hair not looking if it's even. Not caring about your ear hair or how long your neck hair is. Someone not talking to you about anything or even asking how you are(that takes time) they literally check you in and hope you don't talk and hope you have long legs to get back to the chair then hope you don't need to explain that you want something new or different. They hope you haven't had a bad day so there day isn't worse. They haven't had a break all day. They haven't done anything but cater to everyone that has come through the door only to be told that they are tipped employees and they only get $10 an hour all the while the company charges over $15 a cut. So they want the employees to make $60 an hour. Theses usually 3-4 people working. Do the math. Great clips in sterling Illinois is to be avoided!! read more

I've been here twice in the past couple months. The first was a decent experience with what I assume was the manager of the place. She listened to what I wanted and did a decent job, not the best but decent. The next time I went back with my daughter aged 4. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and they took us both back at the same time. The person that took my daughter doesn't have the patience for children. I could tell as my daughter was sitting there, the lady was getting aggravated as my daughter wouldn't hold her head straight up. As her hair was brushed she would lean her head to the side being pulled (I brushed her hair very well before we left the house so tangles were not an issue). While that was happening on the other side of the store, I was being rushed through my haircut as fast as possible. Little effort was given to converse and even less attention to my hair. I said what I would like and that was somewhat discarded. What I got, was a part on the wrong side of my head and uneven lengths of hair. Truly one of the worst haircuts I've had. My daughters haircut didn't turn out well either. I asked for layers to be put in and that did not happen. It was cut all one length and it falls somewhat like a Christmas tree without the needed layers. I have two coupons for $4.99 haircuts that I will not be using. $5 is not cheap enough to have a terrible experience repeated. I will drive to Chicago before going back to this place. read more

I'm sorry to review this as one star but it doesn't deserve any more. You get what you pay for. I've been here multiple times and to other great clip locations throughout the Chicagoland area. I know there are many aspects to this business including customer service, the location, individual employees so it's hard to give just the one star. I know there might be good hair stylists that work here but they've never cut my hair. I've had some bad hair cuts here before but yesterday, I got hands down the worst haircut I've ever received in my life. Completely butchered. I could have given myself a better haircut. These employees are suppose to be professorial hair beauticians and go to school for this. Unacceptable read more

Just wanted to share the good experience that I had recently. I received a GREAT haircut!!! It is the best one I have had in some time. The stylist was friendly and did an awesome job.
