They took two other guys who were checked in later than me and my wait time went from zero minutes to 25 minutes. So now I'm scheduled at 4:30 and I'll have sat here for 40 minutes in store watching everyone else go in front of me despite checking in after me. I brought to the stylists attention and she made up some BS excuse that they're running behind. The truth is, she didn't mark me as being in store when I came in and said hi. I followed every instruction and brought it to their attention and still got treated like crap. I can put up with a lot, but I reeeeeeaaaaally hate when businesses waste my time and ignore me when I bring it to their attention. I have now lost half of my length that I spent 10 years growing out and I am beyond devastated. This same hairdresser now claims that this is in fact what I asked for and that she actually tried to tell me not to go shorter. Absolutely disgusting service. Upon calling for a refund, I was treated rudely, told that I was lucky that my reference picture was not followed and that the way my hair was cut was in fact what I asked for. I was even told that the way it was cut was a "conservative" decision. My hair should have been cut HOW I ASKED NOT WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS IN MY "BEST INTEREST". I was offered half a refund if I took my reviews down. Alongside this, my before photos all apparently aren't accurate by their standards and the difference between before and after is in fact 2 inches..I would rather everyone know how bad of an experience I had than get my money back. I was referred to this tucked-away, 7th floor, North corner, University Building salon by my former stylist. She moved away due to Covid, but she referred me to Niza. The Best: Niza Niza is the shop owner. Her cuts look great from the beginning. But based on my experience, a really great cut is realized 2-3 weeks after the cut. Is my hair still proportional, does it actually look better and basically fall into place with minimal effort? Can I get a neck and ear trim and still look great? Niza's cuts are of the best classification. In addition, Niza does beard consulting and shaping. With just a few corrections to lines, my mustache no longer looked Bandito, my jawline more youthfully square and the little bit of neck waddle diminished. I highly recommend her. Nina brought forth a baby boy, at the end of July... The Worst: Nina Nina is second-chair, and I am being kind. Typically, my stylist will use clippers on the lower sides and then use scissors to shape and mold the rest of my head. I have multiple cowlicks so shaping these into form takes a few cuts of patience, knowledge and talent. I have gotten so used to a good stylist that I relax and let the stylist do their art. My hair is dark brown with just a few white hairs. My beard is white with just a few dark brown hairs. My eyebrows; I am of an age that they grow long and wild, the color is blotchy. I touch up my beard and eyebrows myself, with color and trimmers. Yeah, I am vain and I have coached many men on just how easy it is to do a little color fix, I share my experience freely and openly. In my initial appointment with her, Nina asked, "Is a #3 clipper guard what is used? I replied, #2. I told her it had been about 5 weeks and that my hair grows fast, maybe 1/2" or so. That was the totality of our discussion. The next thing I know big clippers are on my head. I know some stylists that use clippers much like scissors, using their fingers to shape and form; I didn't freak out...until I looked in the mirror. I went to a fix-it stylist. I now have a crew-cut, less than a #1 guard long. My beard is the same very short scruff. I bought some mascara to use until my eyebrows are long enough to take color. I asked Niza about writing this review, she encouraged me. As for Nina, I think Greeley has operations that better fit your abilities.

I chose Swank Salon based on recommendations from friends and family and was excited for my appointment. I rarely spend money on salon services, so this was a special occasion for me, and I was looking forward to having my hair done for several upcoming weddings and events. Unfortunately, I left with orange, uneven, and significantly chemically damaged hair. I arrived with inspiration photos and thoroughly discussed my hair history during the consultation. I had blonde hair for many years and had undergone numerous lightening services in the past without ever experiencing a reaction or damage like this. Despite that history, no test strand was performed prior to applying bleach to my entire head. As my hair was being dried, my stylist told me she was unhappy with how it had processed and asked me to return later so she could fix it. When I saw the result, I was shocked by the condition of my hair. The color was orange and uneven, and my hair had sustained significant damage. My shirt and pants were destroyed with bleach spots. To the salon's credit, Annie at the front desk was kind and helpful and quickly arranged for another stylist to see me. Aaliyah was compassionate and honest about the condition of my hair and did what she could to improve it. Every employee I interacted with was friendly and professional. What ultimately disappointed me most was the way management handled the situation afterward. I was unable to speak directly with a manager and had to communicate through the front desk. The only communication I received from management was through email, where I was repeatedly told that the salon had done nothing wrong and that the damage was simply an adverse reaction to the lightening process. I understand that chemical services carry risks. However, those risks were never discussed with me during my consultation. The salon's position was that this was an unpredictable reaction, yet no test strand was performed and no mention was made of the possibility of severe damage requiring corrective services. The salon did issue a full refund, which I appreciate. I will mention, I've seen no sign of this refund being back in my account. However, a refund does not restore damaged hair. When I later asked whether the salon would be willing to provide any restorative products or treatments to help repair the damage, I was told that any future treatments would be at full cost. I appreciate the kindness of the staff members who tried to help me. Unfortunately, I left with severely damaged hair, no direct conversation with management, and the feeling that my concerns were dismissed rather than truly acknowledged. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Swank Salon for services.
