I cant recommend this salon enough. I've been in there a few times and everyone I've came in…read morecontact with has been extremely kind. I had my hair done by Kylee (which she obviously performed a miracle on). She really paid attention to detail, and did my hair just like my example picture. She was really easy to talk to, and talked me through the whole process. The salon is so cute too, there's so many details in the rooms. Even though I needed some bleaching and toning done, their products didn't have that extremely strong smell that burns your nose.

I went to Blondies last Saturday for the first time. The stylist I was scheduled with for color was…read moreAbby. I learned during my color that she was only 20 and 8 months out of school. No big deal, you trust that they know what they are doing. i have been having my hair done professionally for years. i could tell that her technique was sloppy and I questioned everything. When she was finished I thought it didn't look bad at first. Until I got into my car and started looking closer. there were so many errors, I was devastated. I have never had someone mess my hair up so badly. I contacted the owner and she did offer to fix it. At first I was willing but the more I thought about even stepping foot in that salon, I had a pit in my stomach. I had another girl from a different salon correct my color , and she was appalled by the errors and lack of a pattern, the color choice for my root, etc, etc. I paid $170 for the color at Blondies ($140 + $30 tip) like I said, I initially didn't think it looked bad. Then I paid another $200 to have it corrected. I asked to be issued a refund in which they denied me. I didn't want to be a pain or cause problems but this is unacceptable. I understand that we all start somewhere but the fact that it wasn't made right, especially considering my hesitance on ever stepping foot in there again. Is cause for concern. if you have a fresh out of school stylist who is representing your brand, you make sure she sends her clients home happy and that she isnt ruining anyones hair. I am sad to say that it has completely jilted me and I will never be back there. I hope that this is a major lesson for Abby and the owner.

I chose a different color, but what ended up happening is that I was given highlights in the new color that didn't extend into my roots. My roots are still blonde from the bleaching while the rest of my hair is the color I chose. My issue is that the new highlight color did not end up in my roots which gave me 2-3 inches of undyed hair. I would've expected this from a lower priced salon with a newer stylist, but that wasn't the case which is why this is disappointing. I dont have time to get this fixed because I leave for the wedding, which I'm part of, in a few hours requiring me to fix my roots myself. Not happy.

Moxie is a high-end Paul Mitchell Focus Salon offering a wide range of services: hair, massage,…read moretanning, nails, makeup and up-dos. They specialize in cuts, coloring, extensions and full-body waxing. This hip salon is located on Main in Lewiston and has two floors. The stations in the basement are managed by owners Rachel, Michelle and Kim, definitely the most popular stylists there. Rachel cut and colored my hair the first time and did an amazing job. However, I recently went to Mandy on the main floor and she did a great job on my cut and color as well. I think they intentionally select quality stylists to manage the individual stations in order to maintain their high standards and positive reputation. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming; while it is a high-end salon, I've never felt self conscious or uncomfortable there. Just be sure to schedule enough time for your appointment; they do seem to run a little long. UPDATE: 2.0 stars for the following experience... I went to Moxie one last time before I moved and because I couldn't get in with Mandy, I scheduled an appointment with someone she recommended instead. While I can't remember her name, I was disappointed in the color. I asked that she darken it a bit for fall, and I actually left with blonder highlights than I had before--in fact, they were white blonde and not applied as close to my scalp as usual which means I'll have to have it redone sooner. Plus she charged me $20 more than Mandy. I felt like she did a sloppy job simply because she knew I wasn't going to be a repeat client.
