The inside is tired and in desperate need of decoration, but to be fair this place is all about serving great value food and drink to a high volume of customers. It's noisy, bustling and the tables are turned faster than anywhere else I have visited. £18:50 got us two large starters, two fish and chips and a couple of drinks. The food arrived in no time and we were out of the door in well under an hour. My only complaint last time we were here was the miserable staff, who thankfully seem to have been replaced by a fresh young crew.

The main selling point of this place is undeniably the fact that it has benches outside the front door, practically on the road (seriously, if a car mounts the kerb you're a gonner) enabling you to watch the historic market town go about it's business, something which few other pubs round here can boast. Sitting out the front is a rare pleasure that makes the Thee Horseshoes a fairly good place to be on a rare sunny day. Aside from that, it's a very average pub and has everything you'd expect - because it's usually so busy, the atmosphere is better than most other Otley pubs too, which is a bonus.

Anyway it's open again and probably better than ever as my only criticism was going to be that it was a little worn and tatty. There's a real community pub feel to the Hare and Hounds and despite it's shiny new decor it has retained that 'olde world' feel. Food is available (I think only Wed, Thurs, Friday) and it's damn good, home cooked and delicious. I know pubs are an emotive issue but i would definitely say this is the best in the area.
