Ultimately for me anyway finding folks who would listen to me, and help me work through what I was going through made a huge difference in my life. I would have thought that would be the kind of help you would get from a practice such as this, unfortunately that wasn't my experience. Beth, the receptionist, always greets me by name and with a smile, and she's incredibly professional and efficient. Dr Spence is a child psychologist who specializes in neuropsychology and she has given me tremendous insight about my child. My counselor leska has also seen my oldest daughter and my husband, and they both think she's wonderful as well. I had to work with them for 3 months to get a credit for a missed appointment that the office told my daughter we wouldn't be charged for but we were. Then my daughter had an appointment. I called patient support and billing 2-3 times in advance to point out that she had a credit and to make sure that her co-pay would be taken out of this credit. I was assured over and over that it would be. Then I was billed $48 for the appointment yesterday. I called billing. They were rude and told me they have no record of a credit. Additionally, when viewing invoices in their portal, it shows that I've been paying $5 for her co-pays when in reality I've been paying $30. Patient support always tells me that the Pelham office will call me back but they never do. And I can't call the office because they removed their phone system. Yes - I wrote that. They actually removed their phone system so that patients can't call them. You can only call a call center. God, please let this whole Ally Psych corp that sprawls across 9 states get sued and close down. It is corrupt, incompetent and appalling.

I've also seen one of the nurse practitioners in the practice and he was great as well. I also have several friends who use this practice and they love it as well! The receptionists are all friendly and efficient. The building is large and comfortable, it feels like you're in someone's (large) home and I always feel at ease there. Like any successful practice, there is typically a wait to get in, so call early to get seen!

He actually said something I…read morethought was pretty normal, locking doors behind you when you come in the front door wasnt normal and not many do that!! He then set out to ask who taught you that like that mattered. I said umm my parents, friends, life the police dept who taught safety when I went to college. I hope this therapist doesnt have daughters since home safety and locking your house door as soon as you get in and locking car door locks is the main safety tip that can save your life is what defense class teaches you. It is the oddest interaction Ive ever had with a therapist or person in my life. He missed the whole thing is that my husband doesnt do anything and I do it all, including not even being able to lock a door and I have go behind him with this and everything. BUT he should of been able to keep his personal opinion to himself and set forth to help me and my husband work more as a team to mesh our lives, but he got so stuck on his personal opinions and what I guess he does in his life and he could care less what makes me feel safer in OUR house with small kids. He wasnt objective and since he came for me, it gave my husband ammunition against me when we left our 1st and only therapy session with this person. I ran from the office like the plaque.

They offer both homeopathic medicines as well the standard medications. Dr. Jimmeh (who sadly left during COVID) was the most knowledgeable and helpful, she was one of the best pain/neurologist doctors I've seen ever. The staff is always helpful, and easy to work with, Especially when BC/BS messes with medication coverage. Sadly after Dr. Jimmeh left I was put with another doctor, him and I didn't see eye to eye and my confidence in the Doleys clinic lagged. I may have left but I would still very much recommend them as one of the few good pain clinics in the Birmingham area. Just remember, although you are a patient, you are also a customer, so don't be afraid to be assertive and ask questions of your doctors. You will get the best care when you do.
