I cannot recommend Bill and crew highly enough. First of all, it's very difficult to find a…read morecontractor in the Oakhurst/Bass Lake area that actually shows up when they say they will, hits their project milestones, and communicates well. Few contractors do one or two of those things well, yet Woodworks checks every box! I hired them for a pretty big decking project. It included doubling the size of the bigger deck, adding a spa to my deck, and replacing another smaller deck. We used redwood but not just any redwood. Since the local redwood was a bit skinny, Bill went to the Northern CA coast to get some amazing wood. He used it to cover the entire large deck. To accommodate the new spa, his crew had to bust up a huge granite rock and level out the ground. Then they poured the concrete foundation. Then coordinated a crane to pick the new spa up on my driveway and somehow get it placed 75ft up a steep grade on the side of a hill, navigating over 100ft tall cedars....it was crazy! Once it was set, he also coordinated with spa company to set the spa up. After it was set up, he built the deck around the spa. Once the bigger deck was done, he replaced the supports and rebuilt the framework of the smaller deck. The results are amazing (look at the pics). Equally as impressive, he came in on budget AND hit his timeframe. Why mess around with other contractors when you can hire Woodworks?

Ours is a simple and quaint mountain house that has been in our family for over 50 years. My wife…read moreand I inherited the property after my mother passed away a couple of years ago. We had big plans to upgrade and renew the house and yard and knew for us this would be a labor of love. And so started our search for just the right contractor who could approach the task with the same care and passion that we both share for the property. Not an easy task. Well, after more than a dozen walk-throughs and subsequent quotes from other construction companies, we decided on Xiomara and Ercides of Sandoval & Coreas Construction. This turned out to be the best decision we ever made. As a team, they can't be beat. After walking the property together, I was convinced they could do fixes the other companies were uncomfortably confused about and/or couldn't achieve. Ercides would take a moment, think a problem through, and smile a bit as he described what would turn out to be a brilliant and effective solution. The best feeling was knowing we were in such good hands and that they would treat our home as if it were their own. Ercides, with his excellent craftmanship, built a 13' octagon gazebo with a 14' platform, constructed a beautiful and sturdy 32' x 12' outside deck with railings and gates, installed an air conditioner, a toilet, and a new shed door & frame. He replaced and installed new roofing, painted the house exterior and trim, designed a 50' rock path from the house to the river as well as built a 100' ramp from the top of the hill parking area to the front door porch. All of the work was done efficiently, promptly, diligently and professionally. Ercides and his wife Xiomare are not just honest, reliable, and hardworking people but their pricing was extremely fair, their communication consistent, and they happen to be two of the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure of working with and knowing. My wife and I will be excited to use their company and skills again soon when we have new floors put in the bedrooms this winter. If you are looking for expert craftmanship with attention to detail, provided by fair and honest professionals, we highly recommend using Sandoval & Coreas Construction for all of your home and yard improvement needs.

Hired Wallis Excavating to work on my driveway to allow the big well drilling rig get in to drill…read moremy well. Wallis worked quite a few hours of back hoeing and then after the well was drilled, came back and put the road back into very excellent condition. Figured I had run up a pretty good size bill but was very pleased at the amount of the final bill, much lower than anticipated. So they get a 5 star rating for both the economy of the job plus how good they did in moving all that dirt around. Highly recommended.

Chad Wallis came highly recommended for my new construction. He did an excellent job grading my lot…read moreand was very accommodating. However, as the building project began, he was tough to get hold of, not returning phone calls for a month or more. He installed my power and did all the trenching and septic. Very nice work! But he got busy with another project and still needed to finish my final grading and driveway details. When I chased him up, he said he was "too busy" to return and for me to arrange my final grading and driveway finishing. That ended up costing me more money when I understood that was part of the Grading cost, which I already paid. When it came to the final inspection, Madera County said he never called for the final inspection for the grading. Because the septic install destroyed the erosion control on the bank, the County told me to reseed that whole area before they would sign off on the grading and make some adjustments because the driveway had not been finished as prescribed in the grading plan. (That would not have happened if he had called for the inspection right after the grading!) Not only did this create a delay in the project, but my time and money. This was all very disappointing, so I would not recommend his services unless the project is short and sweet.
