I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews as I've had nothing but positive experiences…read morewith Dr. Shanks! She did my bunion surgery a couple of years ago and my foot has felt great ever since. She explained my problem very thoroughly and wasn't pushy with surgery, though nothing helped to relieve my pain until I had the surgery. I can tell when it's going to rain because I get some aches from the screws, which apparently is common, but it's not bad enough to go through with another surgery to remove it. Now I take my mom to see Dr. Shanks to have her nails cut, since she's diabetic. Her staff has been good for the most part. I guess she recently moved offices so I don't really know the office staff that well, but they all seem nice.

People of Napa, I urge you to have caution with this Dr Shanks. She injected several shots of…read morecortisone in a short amount of time. The fallout was MASSIVE! Failing to place the injection in the nerve, she caused damage to the surrounding soft tissue. The result? A thumbsize indentation on the ball of my foot that radiated excruciating pain. Several podiatrists visits later, all of whom concurred her actions were negligent. I ended up with lifelong issues but with the help of knowledgeable doctors and surgery, I have experienced some recovery from her gross errors. *I hope this review helps someone avoid the pains I have endured. Bottom line: Go to someone with more expertise. My running and dancing life have been shelved for good. Being female and minority myself, I wanted to root for her so I decided to take the leap. That leap left me injured. Go to someone else.

I started going to Mt. Diablo Sport and Spine because I've been ramping up my CrossFit training and…read morewanted to improve my overhead strength and mobility, which had always been a weak point despite trying things like massage and random tips online without much consistency or progress. Dr. Mike helped me pinpoint exactly what was limiting me and built a simple, targeted plan that actually fit into my existing training, and now overhead work no longer feels tight or painful--I'm moving better, feeling stronger, and even PR'd my jerk by 20 lbs thanks to a much better receiving position. He's also been great at helping me manage smaller issues along the way and really listens, making adjustments that work for my goals; working with him feels like having a real coach and medical expert in my corner, and I'd recommend him to anyone--athlete or not--who wants to fix the root cause instead of just chasing symptoms.

I rested, scaled back, and even tried a few massages, but after a month with no improvement, I knew I needed something more. I decided to give Dr. Mike a shot since he's part of our CrossFit community and has a great reputation at the gym. Being a former coach, he truly understands the movements we do and the intensity we train at. That made a huge difference. I also shared that I'm a busy mom and don't have a lot of extra time for long rehab routines, and he completely got it. He gave me simple, effective exercises I could realistically stick to, while actively working on rehabbing my shoulder. What I appreciated most is that he didn't just tell me to stop or "take it easy." He understood my goals and helped me keep moving forward safely without feeling like I was losing progress. Now my shoulder is completely healed. At my worst, I couldn't even lift my arm to shoulder height--now I'm back to doing everything in CrossFit, and honestly feel stronger than before. He didn't just fix the injury--he helped me build a better foundation so I can avoid this happening again. Highly recommend!

The nignt before I got a text message stating my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled to today, july 13th. I did my paperwork prior to arrival as well as brought my imaging disk from my MRI with me as well as my 11 year old daughter .... we are sitting in the reception area for no longer then 3 minutes when i hear one of the 3 ladies behind the desk casually say 'retard' in her conversation with the other employees. Uhh what? 2 seconds later she says 'shit' so i stand up look at them and say uhh hello? Language as i point to my daughter. The one speaking doesnt look at me, her coworker begins to 'whisper' and tells her to 'shut up, that lady is mad, she heard you theres a kid here' Woman with the professionalism of a potato makes eye contact with me, laughs it off and they continue to whisper. I get into the waiting room and there is a bunch of confusion surrounding my MRI results. 25 minutes later one of the women comes in tell me because they would have to get medical consent from my attorney to get my records released to them the doctor said to cancel my visit and i would have to come back another day. This was my 3rd attempt at actually being able to have my appointment, i completed everything they asked me to do in preparation for my appointment but on thier end they waited until im sitting in the office to figure out what they needed on thier end. And because they would need to reach out to my attorney they couldnt be bothered. Absolutely unprofessional from start to finish. The doctor couldnt be bothered to come in to the room himself to speak to me directly after a mistake on thier end and absolutely wasting my time. If i could give less stars i would. After experiencing plantar fasciitis for a few months and not making satisfactory progress with…read morerest, stretching, strengthening, and physical therapy, I found Precision Sports when looking for someone to perform the Graston Technique on my ailing foot. Graston is a procedure of very deep soft tissue work. I had a long-planned vacation about 10 weeks out and was desperate to be ready for a lot of planned hiking. On my first appointment I could not walk down the street without significant pain and discomfort. Plantar fasciitis often takes months to get rid of, so I was prepared to make multiple visits. I was a bit skeptical regarding whether the Graston procedure would help me, but I was desperate to get ready for vacation. At my first visit with Dr Banks, he said they see lots of people with plantar fasciitis and have a very good success rate, so I was cautiously optimistic. I did a series of eight visits which consisted of the Graston technique followed up by a Laser treatment of the foot. I started to feel progress was being made and continued with eight more visits. At the end the pain was almost totally gone, and I was doing significant walking. I then went on vacation where I was able to walk up to 10 miles in a day. Over the course of my visits, I saw both Dr Banks and Dr Matock, who were both great. I would recommend giving Precision Sports a try.
