This school does not deserve to be known as a positive experience for students. People deserve to know the truth. The school has gone from, a 9 to 12 to a 6 to 12 school in the last two years. The poorly planned expansion with no infrastructure to support it has created a chaotic, overcrowded, and stressful environment. You can barely walk in the halls. As a parent, I do not feel it is appropriate to have a sixth grader and a high school student in the same class, due to things that younger children do not need to be exposed to from older children, and yet some of the accelerated students are in that situation. One thing I used to love about this place was the one-on-one attention and small class size, but that doesn't exist anymore because the teachers are overburdened. There was a mass exodus of staff over the summer which the administration did not inform parents of. Instead, they hired no talent, inexperienced bullies to replace valued staff members who were driven away. Of course, since this happened with no notice they had to take what they could get. If you are an involved parent, you are targeted as a problem and you are not welcome here. When parents attempt to speak the truth about it, the administration attempts to silence them through bullying, threats, and intimidation. The school is overcrowded to the point that students do not have enough time to get lunch because the lines are too long. There are students in the school who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and although they make the parents fill out the forms, they refuse to provide it to them, claiming that their food is catered by a subcontractor so they don't have to. The school is always claiming poverty, even though they are well funded and have fundraising galas where large corporations donate large sums of money to them. As a result of their supposed poverty, they are always looking for new ways to make students pay for things including books. Of course, if you are one of their star athletes, then it's a very different story. They are entitled to all sorts of perks that other students don't have. The administrator regularly holds assemblies and meet and greets where he tells people how great he is and how the school would be nothing without him. This place is a joke, and I don't recommend it to anyone. All of these examples are based on my former students and my own experiences and knowledge. It's honestly a shame because we used to be so happy here but were forced out when we expressed concerns. read more
