Massive and popular University in Columbia South Carolina, which is the biggest and most famous in the state, but it's all about sports here, and they're fiercely passionate about it. which makes for a great college town atmosphere, blended with a pretty awesome southern city. I'm a fan - but not of the prices for out-of-state students. I'm always happy to spend time here and I'm sure I shall again.

The Horseshoe part of the campus is the "old" part and it is lovely. The rest of the University has mushroomed up all around it and includes a mix of old and new buildings, architectural styles and green spaces. Biggest in state rival is Clemson University, and the rivalry has been intense for generations!

GO COCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more Anyone who grew up in Columbia know what I mean when I talk about the USC/Clemson love/hate that gets drilled into their brains. My loyalties fell under USC. This is a great school. Certainly not a high-end Harvard place. Certainly not a low-end, unknown school. According to everyone, USC's got the best school of business in the South or something. Classes are normal. Some too big. Some too small. And... Campus is in the heart of downtown Columbia, walking distance to the nightlife. All in all, I love USC. A great school with great history, a great instate rivalry, FOOTBALL (!!!!!!!!!!), and... yeah.

During my most recent visit, I really enjoyed the convenience of the 3rd floor lounge for food and drinks. I technically didn't even have to leave the building! I look forward to coming back here!

I wanted to see the McKissick Museum, but it was closed for the holiday. Nevertheless, I was still able to walk around the campus and read the plaques about the campus' history. I do like that there's an honest acknowledgment that the campus was built using slave labor. The kitchen and former slave quarters are also still there. The campus is a very beautiful place. I enjoyed the many statues, fountains, and manicured greenery.

They…read morehave plenty of restaurants and a wide variety of foods with some places accommodating vegetarians and gluten free options which I think is nice! For example, Twisted Taco has Fried Avocado Tacos and Tavolino has Zoodles (Zucchini Noodles). The staff is always incredibly friendly and always does their best to give great service. One complaint of mine is how irregular the hours have become since COVID and that affects the convenience of Russell House as a whole now; but the options are still unbeatable when everything is open! You can get anything from poke, acai bowls, bagels, and pizza. Lastly, I just wanted to note the cleanliness of the indoor seating areas recently. During the fall semester, there was a lot more cleaning staff in yellow shirts walking around to keep the tables sanitized, but that is no longer the case. The tables are always dirty now and there is no cleaning staff to be seen. This makes me uncomfortable knowing no sanitizing is being done despite the fact that it is a high-contact dining area. I hope they improve on this in the future.
