Not one time did she defend my case or go out of her way to protect my children. On three separate occasions my autistic child has eloped under the care of the opposing litigate and not only did Pat Chvatal but also the commissioning judge Brandon Holt said these things happen.... If you research the statistics of death among autisc children when they elope it is at a stagerring 75-80% due to drowning. Back in October of 2020 a longtime family friend needed legal representation in the Tri-Cities area to handle her divorce. As she has several children that she is supporting by herself and receiving no child support our company stepped in and provided all the legal funds necessary. We reviewed several firms in the area and decided on the Lacoste Law firm. In our first call to the firm we asked to speak to the principal, Jennifer LaCoste. She was on vacation at that time so we spoke to one of her assistants. We were assured a return phone call from Ms LaCoste the following week with a fee estimate for the complete divorce. The following week we did get a call back, not from Ms LaCoste, but from her assistant. The assistant assured us that they could readily handle this matter and advised the retainer necessary would be several thousand dollars. We immediately sent off the amount requested to the LaCoste Law firm. From that point on it went downhill from there. Let me now say that our 36 year company presently has 6 attorneys working for us, from handling Federal cases, to class actions, to real estate acquisitions. Our company spends a quarter of a million dollars a year on legal counsel. We know how the legal system works and know what to expect from a legal practitioner. Thankfully, our 6 attorneys are dramatically superior to the LaCoste Law firm. Once the LaCoste Law firm received our retainer we basically quit hearing from them. Our family friend has been left in the dark for the last six months. In fact, there has been absolutely no communication from LaCoste since before Christmas of 2020. Last year when our friend did call LaCoste it was always pointed out to her that phone calls will cost extra and our friend was afraid that she was going to run up her legal bill. When we asked the firm if they were going to negotiate the child support portion of the divorce they advised that would be several thousand dollars extra! I am so sorry that I hooked up a good friend to an incompetent, uncommunicative, and greedy firm that only cares about what they can charge additional fees for. Jennifer LaCoste would not take my call this morning so I requested a return call. Of course, that call never came. Please do not make the same mistake we made and retain LaCoste Law.....unless you want to pay to be left in the dark.

It is no secret that retaining an attorney and proceeding through the process of court is long, exhausting and expensive. However, Brandon and Cassidy have been nothing short of awesome. Cassidy is so sweet, humble and is very detail oriented. She is VERY good at what she does and it's apparent that she is passionate about her work because she was on top of everything I needed her to be on top of. Brandon is by far the most professional, knowledgeable and straight forward attorney that I have seen stand up in the court room. You often see attorney's get up in front of the judge and start mud slinging and degrading the other party with vicious character attacks, but Brandon does not partake in this at all. He keeps his eyes set on the end goal, which is helping you achieve your goal of what is best for your child/ children. His advice isn't always what you expect or want to hear, but he is always very truthful of what to expect each step of the way and reminds you to trust his judgment because he is in court all of the time and knows the laws, which I appreciate even if I don't always understand the angles or the way things work. One thing that I appreciated the most from these two is that they were also very personable and were emotionally there through your case with you. I called and vented, cried, and was angry and they listened well and reassured me without judgement. They are both very kind hearted, judgement free people. Purcell Law is a very respectable law firm, with great morals and great staff working among them. They are all passionate in their careers, and they are a good bunch of honest people with integrity which seems to be so hard to find these days, especially when dealing with court situations. It is so typical to see a lot of crap going through the courts with attorney's playing games in court with the other parties, but they stand strong with what they believe in and represent people that they believe in as well. They don't defend or lie to the judge to better their outcomes, they play fair, and are nothing at all close to dirty crooks. Their intentions are pure, they're professional, respectful, kind and I am so thankful that I've had both of them to help guide me through this exhausting process. It's been a very long road, but I couldn't be happier with the outcome of our entire case, and that is thanks to them and their hard work and support along the way :) Thank you guys for being so great!!

It was a very long four years of stress and grieve from this divorce, but she made sure to have the voice of my children and mine heard. I paid $15,000 after being told that my case would be finished. Throughout the process, I repeatedly faced threats that Kim would withdraw from my case, which added even more stress to an already difficult and emotional situation. Ultimately, Kim withdrew from my case, and several things I was told would be handled were never completed. Despite the significant amount of money I paid, I have not received a refund. I trusted Kim to represent me and help me through a difficult time. Instead, I am left with unfinished matters, unanswered questions, and trying to figure out what happened to the money I paid. Looking back, I genuinely wish I had taken the time to read reviews about Kim before hiring her. I may have made a different decision had I done more research beforehand. I am sharing my experience because I wish I had known then what I know now. Please do your research, read reviews, get everything in writing, and make sure you fully understand your fee agreement before hiring an attorney. After feeding me a line of crap that he thought he could win my case and making me drive to eastern WA 10 times just to go to court and have his assistant postpone (all this was an attempt to make me FEEL like he was working for me). He finally came to trial to convince me that I should just plead guilty and his year of leading me to believe he could win the case would have worked in another County, but not Benton County. This guy is full of it. If you want to spend $7500.00 and waste a year of your life going to court over and over just to have him do nothing except feed you a bunch of lies and give you false hope only to tell you to plead guilty at the last minute you must like being toyed with. My charge was for DUI. I had to sit through sentencing and watch a dozen or more people go up with DUI plus accidents, plus blowing traffic lights, multiple DUI's and so on. Most had no attorneys (the smart move) but all received the same judgement. Fines, probation, Victims panel and one other thing I don't remember. The system is set up to dole these punishments out whether you pay these jerks $7500.00 or not. So why burden yourself with the extra cost and false hope. I can't say enough bad things about this team. They simply are NOT WORTH IT.

From the beginning of our case, communication was a major problem. We were never able to speak directly with the attorney or the attorney's assistant by phone. Not once. Calls were not returned, and emails routinely went unanswered for days or even weeks. We repeatedly had to follow up just to get basic information about the status of our own case. The delays became so significant that we actually had to retake the required bankruptcy course because the paperwork was not completed in a timely manner. Our bankruptcy took nearly a year, even though we provided every document and everything else they requested from us promptly. The customer service was equally disappointing. The receptionist was frequently rude and abrasive, making an already stressful situation even more difficult. During visits to the office, we could hear her arguing with other clients on the phone and raising her voice at them. Hearing clients being spoken to that way was extremely uncomfortable and did nothing to inspire confidence in the firm. Bankruptcy is an incredibly stressful and personal process. When you hire an attorney, you expect communication, professionalism, responsiveness, and someone who will actually be there to answer your questions. That was not our experience with this firm. Looking back, the lower cost was simply not worth the frustration. The stress of dealing with unanswered emails, lack of communication, delays, and having to repeatedly chase the office for information made an already difficult experience much worse. Do yourself a favor and thoroughly research other bankruptcy attorneys before hiring this firm. In our experience, you may save some money upfront, but the headache and emotional turmoil that followed were absolutely not worth it.
