I completed a full journey of gratitude training 2 years ago (plus some extra courses). Since then, I have completed so many amazing milestones that I have set for myself, for my family, for MY LIFE. I was invited by a friend to participate iqn the first of three phases. The cost to attend was $100. It was intense and interesting...enough to be talked into spending 1K on the next of three sessions. The pressure was enormous. Of the few friends I'd made during the 1st phase, we were somewhat skeptical of the pressure we'd gotten to continue on. The term cult was often used in a somewhat cautionary way. I decided to go on to the second phase. It was extremely personal, invasive and threatening. By threatening, I mean, either get with the program or be humiliated and threatened. As the second phase wound down, the emphasis was on continuing to the third and last phase, requiring an even bigger financial obligation. We were intimidated to continue on and for those without sufficient funds, to aid them as well. In my group of 50 or so, only two of us chose not to pay and continue immediately to the last phase. From that point on, I was ostracized. This was when I truly looked at what was happening and realized that it was not only a cult, but a pyramid scheme. The emphasis was to recruit beyond the three phases of training. This organization looks to recruit souls who are damaged and vulnerable. There's no substance beyond the training. No support. No followup. This is a dangerous money pit. Beware. read more

I cannot give this program enough praise. I was living in the San Francisco when I was told of the training from a friend who I trusted. So I signed up for the 4 day part 1, secured an Airbnb and flew to West Palm Beach to attend. I was impressed enough to commit to paying for and attending the part 2 about 1 month later. I flew back out for part 2 and I must say, this was the most profound and eye/mind/heart opening 5 days in a row I have ever experienced. So I signed up for the 3 month part 3. Back home in SF I had a cushy sales job making just over $100k/yr but I wasn't 'passionate' about it so I used this as an opportunity to take a risk, quit, and move out to FL for at least the 3 months of the program. Those 3 months turned into 3 years and have just recently moved back out west where I much prefer the climate. I was there 3 years because after graduating I kept soaking up the community and the lessons as a coach of the trainings. One of the many results is a healed relationship with my dad. Before, I blamed him, but over time I saw how I was accountable and if I truly wanted a relationship I could make it happen. Or find peace without having the relationship, but either way at least I would go for it. In one conversation we both told each other that yes, we want a connected relationship and now we speak all the time, this Sept 2019 will even be our 3rd annual Tough Mudder event in 3 different states with 4 of us Nordwall men. Professionally, I am a life coach (focusing on healing the mind and committing to Peace and awakening) and a creative writer in the process of writing my first book. This has been a slow 2+ year process but I am doing it and never before did I think I could design a life of my dreams. There is nothing "magic" about the trainings. People go through and some get value, some don't. I will say this though. If a person goes through with an openness and a commitment to look inside and be responsible for how their life is unfolding, I have never experienced such possibility in transformation before. I finished part 1 GT. it was fine. I signed up for Pt 2 and paid. Covid hit. I was trying to get information about the session I was signed up for in late March. I called and got the response that " Our work is so important that we are not cancelling." I was coming from the Pacific Northwest. I had accommodations, a rental car and a flight to manage. The site was in Pompano Beach FL. a hot spot for Covid. After another week went by I got an email saying they were canceling our part 2. I asked for my money back at that point. I received an email saying they would like to refund my money but could not do that until they were able to restart. Once I completed 9 days of Gratitude training part 1, and 2 my life changed to a higher level in all areas of my life. I had been living in fear, blame and anger about my father with my childhood experiences that kept me in bondage. My parents live 2 miles away. Gratitude Training gave a whole new meaning to life and understanding yourself and those around you. Without giving too much details. I was a skeptic about this. I didn't want anything to over cloud my Christian faith in what I believe to be true so this was hard for me. I read all the reviews negative and good. I went in with the negative reviews about it being "cult-like" in the back of my head. I proceeded with caution because I always had the option to leave if I were uncomfortable. Trust me...I was uncomfortable the entire time. That's the entire theme of it all (plus more). Just run! If you are in search of a discovery program that takes the time to listen and care, opt for Self Discovery in Ft Lauderdale! (The GPS course is amazing!) Anywhere else in the country, contact me and I can provide you with info for workshops (in just about every state to spare you from Gratitude). Seriously, it sounds great in theory, but I am determined to ensure that no one attends this b/s training blindly. So you do the pre work, including medical history, and pay. They give you rules and proceed to selectively accommodate your needs. Let me preface this by saying, I simply attended the training based on the recommendation of one person. I have an amazing life...dream job, genuine relationships with family and friends. I simply signed up to better myself and meet like minded people. [[Enter Gratitude Cult]] Everything was fine and dandy until the 3rd day, post meal break. I come back to training to find everyone dancing until we sit. Moments later instructions are given for the A to Z "contest". Being a week out of a cast for breaking my foot/ankle in 3 places (due to a previous injury that severed the nerves in my other foot, leaving me without feeling to balance), I approached the nearest coach to inform them that I could not physically be a part of said competition. I was told to be creative and work around it. I received suggestions to "roll" across the room or ask to be lifted and carried on a chair across the room. Firstly, I explained that in no way was safe as I still had a hematoma and rolled ankle. Not one coach gave a damn. I had already lost almost 2 months of work from the injury and was not physically in a position to risk someone mishandling my foot/ankle. Not only did no coach respect the limitation, they talked down to me for even bringing it up! I explained that I had enrolled in the course just one week earlier and if that sort of activity was mentioned in the medical release section, I would have opted for the workshop the month after. So while they accommodated one lady who could not stand on the first night for ground rules, and allowed her to raise her hand and last night allowed another lady who said she couldn't sit or lay on the floor to remain seated, they all of a sudden could not accommodate me. Final straw was when Chris, one of the two main trainers came to speak AT me. With a raised voice, he told me I didn't have integrity and was not keeping my word by leaving. I responded that he did not have integrity in that he was shaming me for something, a physical condition, I had no control of. His response was that 'now the real context was coming out in bringing about shaming'. He also told me I was not thinking outside of the box, etc. Interesting as he can preach but not practice that. Perhaps he could have thought outside of the box and allowed me to do an exercise I was physically capable of instead of talking down to me. And no, I have no need to be right or any of the bullshit that Gratitude spews but can not even follow themselves! Even better, I was informed after the night of training that Chris told the group of 100+ people that I chose to leave simply because 'my foot was bothering me'. Add that into my "coach" proceeding to tell my small group the same bullshit story!! So, forget about the training being a 'safe space'. They not only allow but encourage a room full of people to side with them and talk down about anyone who has an opinion they don't agree with. Ironically enough I today had committed to approach everyone with compassion?! Reality is, the trainers and coaches should be the ones committing to that. There are so many legitimate companies that offer discovery training...yes, organizations with leadership that genuinely cares...Gratitude is NOT one of them! I am grateful that I was able to spend 3 days learning what kind of organization this is, what kind of people it attracts, and know better. Reading reviews I see that people who have done all of the training still don't even get the takeaway...Gratitude training didn't "get" or "give you anything - your attitude or change of is what gives you the life you wanted. And seriously, it sounds like therapy would have been a smarter option for most! read more

I am in the midst of the 3rd part of Gratitude Training--a transfomational workshop that is changing my life! I understand that there are lots of negative and scary reviews and frankly I was nervous to begin. It sounded to me like the kind of organization I'd avoided my whole life for their cult-like quality. Well, if this is a cult, I'm very, very grateful to be a member! A loving friend recommended Gratitude Training recently, at a time when I was at a crossroads, seeking a way to shift my life into a more abundant way of living and drop the baggage I've carried for so many decades so that I could move more freely and happily. It's a business. By design they make trainees uncomfortable and embarrass them only build them up after. This "Pressure & Release" technique is applied in the same vein as when police apply "Good cop Bad cop". The instructor has trainees go through numbers of exhausting exercises over long days to make them vulnerable and desperate for the instructor's approval. One exercise, supposedly designed to help give and receive feedback, had trainees in a circle of roughly 60, assess the people around them, and pick 6 attractive and 6 unattractive people. After doing so they were instructed to share their opinions with the individuals face to face. How demoralising. The real gain here is for gratitude health to break down the trainees and exhaust them. They are not only crippling the unattractive people but some of these trainees who are in committed relationship are being coherced into hitting on others in the group. They make you sign a contract AFTER paying that states if you do not participate in any one exercise you must leave altogether without a refund. After commiting to said contract, one is more inclined to subject themselves to much more abuse in order to hopefully get to the light at the end of the tunnel which is.... the opportunity to sign up for more of the same in level 2 & 3. If you have the money for this training please seek actuall professional help from someone who is an educated licensed professional as opposed to subjecting yourself to the influence of instructors, with made up titles, who are following a curriculum that was designed by a company to profit off of people's insecurities. read more

Gratitude training is a place where people go that are lacking empathy, awareness that they are not the only human being with feelings, social graces, and emotional intelligence. This is a place for most selfish human being you can imagine and it teaches them to appreciate things - imagine that. It's basically a place where you're taught "how not to be a c u next tuesday". You will at least walk away with some level of social grace and it might even help you be a pleasant person and turn some relationships around. I have spent the last 6 years trying to accept my life, forgive myself for the things that have caused me pain and suffering. The things --- quite literally were my perceptions. I could not control my dad leaving, my first love dying, my medical diagnosis, but I could choose to look at the bright sides I was given despite these very real-life situations. Life is a choice, happiness is a choice, we choose to live or we choose to die a slow, boring and or and painful death. I have read many books, scientific and otherwise, studied the brain and the development of it in an effort to understand my choices in life or rather lack thereof, studied adverse childhood experiences and their impacts on my development and health, attended many retreats, sought the professional help of therapists, hypnotists, and healers of all kinds. This training has essentially provided me with all the tools I spent 6 years learning about but not knowing how to put into practice. I have been able to self reflect and actualize through 60 other people, who share my pain in many ways. We are all but mere reflections of each other. No matter how different our stories, many of us are plagued with the same pains. GT helped me understand where the pains came from, why I chose them, and how to let them go. Is it going to be an immediate change? No. That is up to me. An existential depression or confusion cannot easily be fixed or accepted as it takes effort. As is life, a choice to better yourself, let go, and love. For those of you out there who are so defined by social expectations, whose egos are larger than your desire for happiness, perhaps you will find this difficult, or culty. But no one here forces you to do anything. It is your choice. Always. Walk away- yes they will try to help you understand that your walking away is because of your own fear narratives, and some of you won't get it. Gratitude Training is an educational experience that assists students in learning "how you are, who you are and what you can be." I am grateful for the tools that I acquired 30 years ago when I took the Lifespring Training, the basis for what is now known as Gratitude Training. Since I connected with the Gratitude Community in May 2014, being involved has supported and reinvigorated me. Experiential education suits me perfectly. Gratitude Training has taken the original course material to the next level improving on the original coursework of the Lifespring Training in many ways not the least of which is during Part 3, known as Masterful Living. During this course, the participants raise money and volunteer their time in support of a selected non profit organization, upgrading their facilities cosmetically, installing Vegetable gardens and providing love and support for the beneficiaries of the non profit organizations, such that they know that they matter.
