I'm really glad we have such a beautiful trail to enjoy during the summer months. Great for running, walking, biking and roller skating. The neighbors of St. Charles were super friendly and gave us smiles and waves. I believe the Rail Trail goes 11+ miles and it is completely paved. There are horse trails. As for the park, the pavilion and gazebo were nice. I think the playground and the volleyball court could use some attention but we also saw it at the end of spring so maybe the parks department hadn't done their seasonal maintenance yet. It felt very peaceful and safe here. Great for a picnic, graduation party or birthday. We saw 2 kayakers and 2 fishermen on the river while there.

We go here a few times each summer to enjoy the weather, tranquility and scenic sights.. it's a very family-oriented gathering spot, perfect for picnics, biking, hiking, jogging, relaxing, and photo opps. I really enjoy it - it's off the beaten path, nestled in a wooded area, very clean and tranquil... it's quiet and beautiful- we have taken many gorgeous photos here. There's plenty of parking, public restrooms and nice trails.. however, bring the insect repellent/ you'll want it!!

Where we parked there was a path to get to the falls. They are not really falls, just a man made dam with concrete steps on several levels to check out the water. I could see people were able to have canoes on the lake and there was a beach and playground off to the distance on the other side. Another part of the park maybe? A lot of people were walking around with their kids or come go fishing. So it was a nice family area. I realize I am more of a resort pool with a lazy river girly, so I am not in love with the many swarms of gnats but that is me. If you are outdoorsy, this is a nice place to visit. You're able to park on the side while you unload your kayak or unload right into the water if you have a boat. During the holiday week - there were barely alot of people there which is awesome. My friend and I just wanted some where to float and chat. She repeated like 15 times while we were on the lake.... "I really like this spot". Bathroom were clean and didn't smell any odor - definitely a plus in my book. Please note - recreation passport is required; it's a honor system if you don't have one. It's pretty rare to see a three legged bridge, and even more rare to see one as well maintained and gorgeous as this one. We came from the side closest to downtown, and there was plenty of parking in the lot, with free three hour parking on the street as well. There's a watercraft access point for kayaks and the like, and a few people boating and people fishing at the shores of the lake. There were also people having a picnic at the picnic tables. It's a peaceful place to visit and the surrounding grounds are well maintained.

Multiple lanes to sled from and the conveyer belt saves so much time and energy of exhausting yourself just on the trip up. The track is fun for racing and group tubing for all ages.
