Very nice local space for events. The Grassmarket Community Project is an excellent charity, which provides opportunities for vulnerable people (such as the homeless or those with mental health difficulties) to learn useful skills and be part of a community.
I attended for an Edinburgh Soup event, an event which involves everyone paying a £5 entry fee, four charities pitching to the crowd, and then one charity taking the proceedings from the night for their work. In the meantime, the attendees enjoy some excellent soup, bread, and music. The idea is great, and I was delighted to get to know the Grassmarket Project whilst attending the event. Clearly, they have been growing phenomenally over the years, and the facility is first-rate for the work they do in the community.
If you want to support, there is a café that's open each day. I've not yet visited the café, but it's now definitely on my list, as I am delighted to support excellent community projects such as this one. Keep up the good work. read more
