When we asked the owner if she could help us with a Chinese Holly she stated "I don't carry anything like that" I asked if Chinese Hollys were typical for this area because the boyfriend just had a new house built and the builder couldn't tell us what type of shrubs they were. So we told her we weren't for sure if it was an actual Chinese holly but asked to show her a picture of it to see if she could identify it and she stated "it wouldn't be any use, because I don't carry anything like that". When I asked if they were typical around this area she didn't answer and said a bigger nursery should be able to help you. My boyfriend and I are not experts and that's why we came to a nursery to ask for help and point us in the right direction even if she doesn't carry anything like it, it would have been great if she could just tell us if it was even a holly bush or a boxwood. Her demeanor was very rude and she acted as if she didn't want to help us. Not a great way to do business. Definitely won't be stopping back by here.

I spent months researching dwarf Japanese maple trees last year, trying to find the perfect variety…read morefor my yard in Franklin. By the time I finally knew I wanted Orangeola maples, they were sold out everywhere. So today I went to Hewitt's with one mission, to find two Orangeola maples, ideally in 6-gallon buckets. Alan was introduced to me as the tree expert, and he absolutely lived up to the title. I explained what I was looking for, and he immediately walked me over to the first two 6-gallon Orangeola dwarf maples they had just received. We spent maybe ten minutes with the trees, and they were exactly what I wanted. I also told Alan that I had uprooted all my plants last year to redesign my landscape and showed him photos of my front yard. I explained that I wanted more color instead of the usual deep green evergreens and boxwoods. Without hesitation, he walked me over to a beautiful little shrub that changes through five different colors. He was fantastic........knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. Overall, it was not only a great experience but a fast one. I left with exactly what I came for and more.
