Today is June 25, 2025 and I had Grasshopper come out to my house for the second time to remove trees. Had a great experience with them the first time so decide to hire them again. These are hard-working guys they took down four pine trees and a relatively big maple tree in about 3 1/2 hours. That also includes cleanup, which I feel like each time they've been to my house they've gone above and beyond for cleanup, which is really nice. Anytime I've ever called grasshopper they've answered their phone and been to my house to give me a quote within two days. I had multiple companies come out here and some of the quotes were outrageous. I think Phil does very fair business and if you're looking for a tree service company, I would highly recommend having grasshopper give you a quote. read more

I originally received a handwritten quote of $5,000. After waiting over a week and following up multiple times, I was never put on the schedule. Eventually, the price increased to over $7,000. I've attached the original handwritten quote on the back of the business card to show the discrepancy. This experience reinforced the importance of getting everything clearly in writing. Since posting this review, the owner has contacted me several times, stating that this "should have been handled man-to-man." I found that framing unnecessary and unprofessional, especially given that the review reflects my actual experience. Due to recent threats of legal action over my original opinion, I have been documenting communications and recording calls. I'm comfortable standing by the factual details of what occurred. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, and I would not recommend this company. Protect yourself and make sure you get written estimates. read more

Nice job cleaning up but left ruts through the front yard and refused to fix them telling me the grass will cover them in a couple of weeks. The last man leaving told me to bad nothing they can do with a very bad attitude. If you have a nice lawn make sure they don't ruin it before you hire them. read more

The company worked through me to cut trees at my mother in laws house. A+++++ in customer service. Absolutely reasonable pricing. Excellent communication, texting over phone calls always appreciated. We're all busy, so it's easier to communicate by text. Crew did their job quickly and my MIL barely heard anything. Emailed me a receipt, Superior. Stop reading and call somewhere else. This company was cutting a tree down in my neighbor's yard. They needed to jump their lift so they went to my house and unplugged my exterior lights to plug in their lift without permission. They DESTROYED my back yard and refused to clean it up. My wife approached the owner and he was extremely condescending to her. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

They did a great job! My tree enormous and very close to my house and my neighbors garage. It also had electric lines running along side it. They were the best price and removed it with no problem. Their clean up was also fantastic. By the time they were done you would not of known I just had a tree cut down. read more

I have had this company out once before to remove a tree and his crew was pretty decent and did the job but the owner Phil was kind of arrogant. Needed another tree taken down and he texted me an estimate and would not budge on price but kept saying this was a one day deal take it or leave it. Against my better judgement I hired him. His crew was able to remove what was discussed but when I saw my property the next day I could not have been any more pissed off. I wrote him politely and sent photos showing him the damage to my property and my driveway and told him I wanted it repaired. He wrote back with an attitude stating how good of a deal he gave me and to go spend $25 on grass seed and $20 on topsoil. He then wrote back quickly and said he saved me $750 on the second tree they removed and if I wanted my property repaired to pay him the $750 and he would send his crew out to make repairs and pressure wash the oil from his trucks that covered half of my double car driveway. I wrote him back and said what kind of a business is he running and to not show his face at my house. Within in minutes he showed up and started running his mouth as I told him to get the F off my property. You try to extort money off of me to make repairs that your company was at fault for and then show up at my house and run mouth. And on top of everything else my wife had to go out last night and clean up all of their drink bottles and garbage they left out by my shed and put her paver stones back around our other large tree that they removed. Stay away from this guy, his crew seems to do a decent job but this particular individual has no clue what it takes to run a business when customer service is involved. The number one rule, the customer is always right. No matter how good of a deal you think you gave it doesn't give you the right to damage someone's personal property. You fix the issues that you know you are at fault for and apologize. This is how you save face and get return customers. read more
