I hired Robert Morris recently to handle the probate estate of my deceased mother's, and was very pleased with the results. During our initial meeting, he seemed to be quite knowledgeable about the probate laws that would apply to this particular type of probate estate, and took the time to explain them in detail. He had a patient, personable manner during this meeting, and was very upfront about everything. He charged very reasonable fees for this case overall. My deceased mother's probate case was approved without any issues, at every step, and all of the assets from her estate were subsequently released without any delays; this is the ultimate goal of any probate case, and his exceptional legal expertise absolutely helped bring about this successful outcome. I later decided to have Mr. Morris prepare some trust administration documents for an irrevocable trust which I am currently serving as the trustee of. Again, he charged fair, reasonable fees for these, and also took the time to add some critical, necessary updates needed to conform to Nevada law (the trust had originally been drafted in a different state). I have since used these documents to handle a number of financial banking matters, and have had no issues at all with the banks when doing so. Having these properly drafted, well-prepared documents on hand to use for such matters made a very significant difference in terms of time, hassle, and stress when it came to administering this irrevocable trust; I have since realized how crucial it is to hire a skilled estate planning lawyer for these situations. Mr. Morris provided outstanding work for my particular probate and trust matters overall, and I couldn't have been more impressed. I would definitely recommend hiring him and his firm. read more

Called their law office for appointment to update my Trust which was done by another firm. Met with Mark Dodds. A very pleasant attorney and had a good understand of what I wanted. The Trust was updated promptly a few days later. I subsequently read through the Trust and it appears that everything is covered. Good job. read more

Admittedly when I called I wasn't sure if they could even help. The receptionist was incredibly sweet, listened to my issue, and then set up a meeting over the phone for the following day. I can't remember who I spoke to, but he gave me great advice, listened intently, and told me what I needed to do before I really needed to get a lawyer (and even told me honestly that I probably wouldn't need to). I appreciated the kindness and honesty given at a tough time when I felt frustrated. I would definitely call them again if I ever needed to. read more

Would not recommend this law firm. They leach on people's lack of intelligence and are overpriced. I worked in an estate planning office for years, I needed to get a simple amendment to a trust (mind you these are easier and less expensive) but the attorney wanted to restate my whole Trust and charge me $1600. Their reasoning was doing a simple amendment is far more Difficult and time restrictive then restyling the entire trust! Wouldn't do the amendment and we didn't go with this company. Rip offs, waaaaay overpriced . Find another trust law Firm read more

I had FINALLY found out where Mark L. Dodds was now a partner, after having suffered through three other revisions at another firm. Mark was the attorney who worked at Jeffery Burr and Associates when we first prepared our Trust Documents in the state of Nevada. He was thorough, very well qualified, took our requests seriously and prepared all documents so that there would be no ambiguity in their content! I worked for attorneys for almost 30 years, so this I know. Due to leaving his previous firm, the firm would not tell me where he was now practicing law. I went to the "other" estate firm in town as I had no other choices at the time. My husband and I always respected and trusted Mark Dodds work on our behalf, and even more so after I had to go to someone else for awhile. I searched and found where Mark is now a partner at Grant | Morris | Dodds. I called for an appointment and he returned my call in a matter of two hours. I had an appointment within two days. He is, without a doubt, one of the highest caliber attorneys specializing in Estate law that I've had the pleasure to deal with. I know when he prepares the documents, they will not leave my family to deal with an expensive and unnecessary mess of legal tangles to undo. All I can say, with 30 years of working with attorneys in Illinois, you definitely get what you pay for. Mark's fees are higher than Cassady Law Firm, however, I have peace of mind knowing my wishes are clear, concise and will not be a mess for my family to deal with. His office staff is considerate, professional and truly create an atmosphere of welcome in their presence. I feel safe for me and my family once again. read more

IF YOU HAVE FOUND THIS ESTATE LAW FIRM YOU CAN STOP SEARCHING! David Grant at this law firm is exceptional. I am a very high maintenance client so my referral means a lot and I'd give him 9 stars if I could. I got to him after a problem with one attorney and another attorney that did not keep his word. David is extremely patient, wants to understand what you want and create documents that represent your clear wishes. He truly wants to ensure the documents bring you comfort. He works with you 100% of the time - no paralegal, no assistant. He virtually always answers calls and emails with a quick question within one day. His price is also very competitive and was less than the two other attorneys I worked/met with. He is knowledgeable, can describe confusing concepts in a way the lay person can understand. What I else can I say? I hope you meet with him! read more

Highly recommend David Grant. He and the office are professional, respond quickly and are accommodating.

Our family recently met with David Grant concerning estate planning. Mr. Grant is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and very patient in explaining ideas and presenting his plan. He is very thorough in all aspects of estate planning and taxation. Besides that, he is a very nice gentlemen and makes you feel at ease. His fees are extremely fair for the services rendered. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone to do either basic or advanced estate planning for a single person or a family of several generations. read more

My brother passed away in April of 2013, and I suddenly was forced into taking care of his remaining family and his estate. I went to one other attorney who dropped the case after 3 weeks due to the difficulties on so many levels: Guardianship for my disabled sister-in-law, guardianship for his children, living trust, selling his estate, moving his family and guardian jurisdiction from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, etc. I went to Grant Morris and Dodds and hired attorney Robert Morris, and after a strenuous 6-months period and numerous court appearance, I was able to obtain my brother's estate to support his surviving family. I would undoubtedly recommend Grant Morris and Dodds to anyone who needs legal help on family and estate planning matter. read more

My sister and I had a trust created for our mom's estate. David, our attorney, was friendly and helped us navigate different situations to suit our families needs best. He was great at explaining all of our options and pros/cons. It was very reasonable and competitively priced. The process was easy and I would definitely recommend them and use their services again. read more

I can't say enough about David Grant. He is intelligent and as far as I am concerned, an expert in his field. Our prior attorney did not explain how our estate tied into our Trusts but David streamlined everything so that, although we have a lot going on, I feel I can look at our Estate chart and understand it. We feel confident about our future as well as future generations. read more

I really truly do not understand all of these five star reviews. I seriously have had the worst experiences with one of their attorneys, over and over. The ONLY good thing was that he responded quickly via email but he was constantly confused or had forgotten (all of?) the details of the case. He would review things so quickly that I had to stop him, time and time again, to ask him, "I'm sorry, what is that exactly?" and "What does that acronym mean?" I didn't need it dumbed-down, I'm not an idiot, but I needed the legal terms and processes explained, because I'm not an attorney! The office dropped the ball for over a month on filing paperwork on my behalf and if I hadn't of checked on it, I don't think it would have ever gotten done. The front desk receptionist was never friendly and acted like my being there was an annoyance. I just could not recommend this firm. read more

Unfortunately I have had numerous experiences with lawyers throughout the course of my life, some amazing, some adequate and some that lack the skill and/or professionalism it takes to get the job done. Jason Aivaz of Grant Morris Dodds took payment in advance and has lacked the dedication and interest it takes to handle my matter. His only actions on my behalf seem to come as a result of my emailing him asking for status or a phone call from me asking for status. He has said to me he gauges his representation as successful so far yet he is aware of my dissatisfaction about having zero accounting of funds in the trust, location of those funds and no full dispersal after 17 months since my mother's passing. Since hiring Jason Aivaz and the Grant Morris Dodds firm those are the things I've requested and have not yet seen or received. Knowing the details of my trust issues and his willingness to take the case I'm shocked that there has been no resolution. The only reasons I can place on this not being resolved is Jason Aivaz's lack of commitment to seeing this through, unwillingness to hold the other party and her attorneys accountable as well as his behavior when I ask for him to be accountable. I would describe his duty to act on my behalf as lazy, passive and arrogant. I just wanted an attorney that listened to me, represented me, someone to stand up and fight for me and I feel like it's me battling my lawyer, Jason Aivaz, on top of still having to battle the trustees lawyers to provide an accounting, provide a location of funds with interest rate and final dispersal. I'm posting this review before my relationship with the firm is over knowing they will probably see this because I've honestly lost all faith and hope in achieving the goals I had set by hiring this firm. *The response from GMD, terminating an attorney and client relationship in YELP response. Sums up the lack of commitment to professionalism* read more

My husband and I had a free consultation with this firm scheduled today. I followed the directions to the address 2520 Saint Rose Parkway. I parked in the parking lot behind 2500 Saint Rose Parkway; because NONE of the other buildings had numbers on them. I attempted to call them on the number listed on YELP, on their website and online. AND THE CALL WOULD NOT GO THROUGH! I do not know how clients FIND THEM, or even CALL them, because I could not do either one! My husband is furious and I am ANGRY MORE THAN WORDS! read more
