Based on all the positive reviews I decided to make an appointment and everything went great. There was no wait, I was seen right away, the dental hygienist, who's name I believe was Derek was a good conversationalist and I felt did a good job. Next, I met with the dentist who's not currently listed on their website and who's name I've forgotten was great as well. He was informative, friendly and had a good chair-side manner. I will absolutely come back for my second cleaning.

And NOW- A friend of mine recommended Dr Yi.... from the very first visit I felt at ease. His staff at the front desk and the hygienist were welcoming, personable and professional... then I met Dr Yi. He's friendly (great sense of humor), thorough, professional and I've never felt like he was trying to sell me on anything or dental work I didn't need. I'm grateful to have found a dentist that I trust and I no longer get anxiety or the spins when I sit in the dentist chair!

WHAT THEY DO WELL…read more The staff are professional and helpful. I've never has any issue getting an appointment in a reasonable mount of time. They are also good at working with insurance providers. The exam rooms are clean and provide ample privacy. (The same is not true for a competitor just down the road) ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT I Seemed to be at the mercy of the dentist on shift whenever I went in. I prefer a little more consistency for the sake of patient continuity. Unfortunately, while the service I received seemed great at the time, I ultimately ended up with 2 failed crowns, and each time was referred to an Endo for a root canal. In both cases, the root canal was halted mid-procedure due to the fact that the tooth was cracked to the bottom of the root in multiple places. The Endo claimed that in both cases the DDS should have seem this in x-ray and never crowned in the first. The only good option from the beginning was to extract and get an implant (or denture). Since this office doesn't perform those services, one can only guess they wanted to get paid for the crown work, costing me the patient thousands of unnecessary dollars and much discomfort. To be fair, the crown did postpone the extraction by several years. SUMMARY If you are just looking for cleanings and basic dentistry at a convenient location that is clean and accommodating, this is a great place. If you require any care of a more serious nature and want to work with someone you can trust, look elsewhere.

My experiences with Green Leaf Dental is 10/10 - and I don't mean that lightly. They were able to get me scheduled for an appointment within 24 hours. I was pretty nervous because someone at my work just had one done (somewhere else) and was in a lot of pain afterward. But let me tell you, Dr. Phi did such a good job, I experienced zero pain after the local anesthetic wore off. Not even a little bit. I could tell he was doing good work. He was very meticulous. And I enjoyed his chair-side manner. I will definitely go back.

I went in and its an old office with the receptionist that also serves as the dentist assistant. The cleaning lasted 15 min, fastest one in my life, he used a tool i had never seen before and when I asked him what it was he said it had been around for 50 years, which meant it was OLD and also old technique. I felt anxious throughout the whole cleaning as he was scraping my teeth and hurting my gums. Then he proceeded to polish with flouride, each tooth was warm after the polish, also something i had never experienced. 30 min after the visit, my teeth are not 100% clean and I have a very sore mouth. I wont be going back and do not recommend.

A few months ago, I went to my old dentist with a crazy toothache that went up the whole side of my head. I mentioned it was a day after biting on some very hard bread so I thought I might of cracked it and not felt the effects until today- I had no idea? She said she did not see cracks but likley it was factures you can't see and I would need a root canal.. just like that. I was like really.. oh no! After banging on my tooth in which I howled in pain to prove it to me again she said,"Yep Root canal." She wanted me to get this done ASAP. I told her I have to call back. I wanted a second opinion. I went in to see Dr. Miyata who was excellent about fitting me in the next day for an emergency visit. He looked at and hit my tooth too, but he also took a x-ray and saw a fuzziness on his picture that looked like I had a sinus infection. I did not think I did as it was just a toothache that went up to my ear. That looks like a sinus infection, the bread thing might have just made it sensitive too. He gave me antibiotics for my toothache and said if this does not help to come back in and we will see what's happening once this infection goes down. With in days I was better. Yay! No Root Canal! He took the time to evaluate all possibilities before mangling my tooth for no reason. I am grateful. Later that month, Dr. Miyata's office sent me a card welcoming me as a new patient, shoot, I should have sent him a card for saving my tooth! I just went in again for annual cleaning/check up and I have to say I really love coming to a small practice, the staff is so nice and I like the lil bag of cleaning goodies ya get with your cleaning. I've complained to him about various tooth issues and he says, "Well, we could do such-and-such procedure, but you're probably better off just waiting a while to see if the symptom subsides." And he's always correct -- the random ache goes away and I didn't have to pay a cent nor endure a drill. I've had dentists who were like car salesman -- they'd use their medical knowledge to intimidate me into accepting an unnecessary procedure. Many dentists seem really greedy. Dr. Miyata is not like that. He often talks with the assistant about super random stuff while he's working on my teeth, which I find both odd and entertaining.

The office is also only about 8 minutes from the ID, so it's also a perfect excuse for me to swing by Uwajimaya for my favorite groceries and try out local restaurants for a meal afterwards. I recently went in for my first cleaning in two years and to be honest, it was probably the most dirty my teeth have ever been! I was worried I'd be judged for my recently poor dental health (I was traveling overseas for the past year in countries where I couldn't drink tap water to clean my teeth), but they didn't make me feel bad about it at all. I left feeling very positive and hopeful that I can take better care of my teeth. Dr. Nartea has a very gentle hand which makes going to the dentist a lot less scary. I will likely be getting some preventative care to avoid some cavities this next year and I'm not even worried as I know I'll be well taken care of by Dr. Nartea and the Seward Park Family Dental team!

She assured her that she will be there the entire time and to let her know if anything felt uncomfortable. Dr. Lin did the filling and he was gentle as ever. No numbing or local anesthesia needed! My daughter said her bite felt a little funny afterwards and he listened and filed it down to make sure everything was flush. We were in and out within 20 minutes. SPFD has been our family dentist for over 9 years and we will continue to go here even though we now live 45 minutes out!
