I'm on a flight back to Anchorage that was supposed to leave at 430pm and we are only now starting up the engines at almost 5pm. This isn't the first time I've had this happen leaving Kenai, but it really irks me because I have another flight to catch past security that leaves at 6:20, but boards at 5:40. If we had left on time it would not be an issue but because Ravn is late so often (not weather related or gate availability related) I'm likely not going to make my flight and possibly lose my rental car. I think I'll slfly Grant Aviation moving forward, this is ridiculous.

Lots of parking. We stayed in a dog friendly room, on the end. They provided a dog dish and some dog treats! There are some trails behind the hotel that I was able to walk my dog down, he seemed to enjoy them. They offer a "continental" breakfast... it was some cereal and coffee/juice. But, I'm not complaining, I enjoyed the rare lucky charms indulging!

I needed to rent a car to drive from Kenai to Anchorage and back, I decided to go with AVIS inside…read morethe Kenai Airport. Picking up the car was almost an hour long hassle, the two girls working there looked like high schoolers, and they had to call their boss for everything. They kept stating "we aren't trained, sorry" and "I don't know... I'll have to call my boss, hang on." I brought my full coverage insurance declaration with me - but it printed funny, so they had to call their boss and make sure it was legit, I also had to call GEICO and have it e-mailed to them. I also brought 2 credit cards with me, however they are Capital one cards that do not clearly state "CREDIT CARD" on them - so I was not allowed to use them (one says capital one quicksilver, and the other says capital one savor one), until I got frustrated with them and they called their boss AGAIN to get an okay to run my credit card. After an hour at the airport, and about 30 calls to their boss about every little thing, I finally was able to get a car and leave. The following day when I returned the car, I was told that the gas tank was "not full" - I drove it from the gas station to them, about 2miles. I had to leave and get MORE gas - literally less than a gallon - and bring it back. By then, I was about 15mins past 4pm and THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME AN ADDITIONAL DAY!!!!!!!!!! ($125). I don't lose it often, but I had had it by then, and I demanded that they give me their boss' number, so I could speak with them myself. After my rant, the boss "waived" the extra day fee for me (gee, thanks for doing the RIGHT THING). So, moral of the story - DO NOT USE AVIS. They are not trained, they have no idea what they are doing, they have kids running the counter in street clothes, with their heads down - staring at their phones. It made a difficult trip that much more stressful. I sincerely hope that their boss learned from this situation and ACTUALLY TRAINED THEM. There is nothing more frustrating than hearing, "hmmm I dont know...." when you ask a question that they are SUPPOSED TO KNOW!
