It's pretty unlikely that anyone reading this will be in this neck of the woods, or if they are, they won't be looking at Yelp for restaurant suggestions. But just in case...
This is definitely a locals place - everyone knew everyone (except me - I was with a couple of friends who took me hunting in the area). And the locals keep coming back. That's worth noting. That's worth coming by to see what's up.
Daily plate lunch specials, a bunch of sandwich, burger, and po-boy selections, and even steaks - all in a tiny little, old-time general store (groceries, feed and seed, motor oil, and hardware supplies line the walls with dining tables in the middle).
My buddies and I all had burgers and fries which were good, simple, old-time burgers. Fries and tater tots (from the freezer) were perfectly brown and crispy. Red beans and rice (with smoked sausage) looked really good. Can't really tell you much else about the food, except the tables were full of locals and everyone seemed happy. Can't beat that. read more
