I came over here a few weeks ago on a Monday and waited for them to open and 15-20 minutes after opening hours no one was here and the door was still blocked with items. I called and got their voicemail which said that summer hours would include being open on Mondays 12-7. At that time there was no sign on the door saying closed for the day. I decided to try again today. Called twice before heading over to the store to see if they would in fact be open. Still no answer other than the voicemail, but the voicemail still said they would be open from 12-7 on Mondays. So, I decided to risk it. I just drove up to find out they still are in fact not open, at least they have a sign on their door (spelled wrong I might I add). If you are going to have a voicemail listing your hours of operation, you need to update it if you are going to be unexpectedly closed on a random, non holiday, day. This makes me very unlikely to come back because I don't want to waist my time or gas.

Doors (with measurements written on the side), double hung windows, stained glass windows, fireplace mantels, doorknobs, hinges, etc. Went here today for the first time with my daughter and grandkids. The people working there could not be more friendly and helpful. They even took time to actually stop and chat with the children. I bought a small ladder for the garden and when checking out the gentlemen helping me told the kids they could each pick out a toy. It made their day!

This place has everything to satisfy the hearts and wallets of the junkers, the treasure hunters, the rehab addicts, the artists, and even the true antique aficionados. You could spend days here. If they offered a sleepover package, I would definitely buy a ticket, hang my hammock, and camp out with some friends because you need more than one visit (even a lengthy one) to fully appreciate everything this place has to offer. The architectural salvage is a big part, but don't miss the indoor building, which is a labyrinth of wonders from the last hundred years or so. You'll quickly see where the "Antics" in their name came from because you will find quirky, ironic, and just plain odd items wherever you look. And if you walk around smiling like an idiot, you'll fit right in. The prices are jaw-droppingly fair, I might add, which is an anomaly with such businesses. There was even a dresser that was beat up, missing knobs and missing shelves and still asking for over $400. So pricing here needs some work. Although I found it to be outside my wallet price point, I really appreciate how Todd and his wife concentrate on mid-century vintage. This come-back era is hot right now and specialization gives them the ability to focus on quality pieces. All items are cleaned and treated - absolutely ready to be brought home. Super high end. I mean, you could eat right off those bright avocado green plates. Here's my two cents on why spot-clean is critical. It might go without saying in this business..but whoa!...presentation and suggestion for homeware use and decor is key. Especially for mid-mod items, the cleaner the pieces, the more vivid the color which just throws you right into back into mid-mod environs. They do a terrific job here. (I mean, do you want to take home a dusty, faded-color, fondue tray which lost its elements that evoke the era?) The whole shop knocks my socks off! Product displays are very well done and you are jolted back in time the moment you walk in the door. The vignettes keep a steady theme and the colors totally pop. Just like they did mid-century. Here is what you'll find: tables, mirrors and furniture, lots of lamps, plenty of paintings, canisters, radios, knick-knacks, funky book ends, lots of owls, plates and bowls and zillions more. They really do pack it in here. And they have so much more to display. I see this really as the showcase boutique for their online shop. Todd told me the story of how he and his wife fell in love with all things mid-mod whey bought their 1960s-something home. Try to catch them on the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month. The shop is only open occasionally. Definitely worth a visit.

I was in awe by the quality and quantity of their retro stock which was all in mostly amazing condition, ready to be brought home, clean, and the colors really pop and haven't lost their unique brilliancy! Very clean store and helpful customer service. Although it was a little over priced, I found a few items I was willing to buy without thinking about the price too much.

This is my absolute favorite vintage shop in Knoxville and Knoxville has a LOT of good vintage…read moreshops. It's small but it packs a whole lot of selection into into the space. It's always clean and easy to find my way around in. Bonus points for actually having a dressing room; not all the vintage shops do, even many of the larger ones don't. The staff is always friendly and helpful and there always seems to be some kind of sale going on in multiple booths. I usually spend more than I intended but I never leave disappointed.
